Chief Court Clerk, Eileen Malay, commented that she
would like to take this opportunity, to state for the
record, that she feels the salaries proposed in the 1987
Preliminary Budget for employment positions currently
filled by women at the town are inequitable compared to
those proposed for men based on duration of employment and
experience.
Supervisor Pierce stated that the appropriate time
for comment on the Preliminary Budget would be the Public
Hearing scheduled for November 5, 1986. He verified that
adoption of the Preliminary Budget, establishes that no
increases can be made to an appropriation in that budget.
There being no further comment from those in attend-
ance, a motion was made by Councilman O'Donnell, seconded
by Councilman Thorpe, to adjourn the special meeting. All
voting aye, the motion was carried.
The meeting adjourned at 5:10 o'clock p.m.
