September 2- 1954 .
The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held Thurs -
September 2rd , 1954 at the ' Town Office Building .
Day evening -
Present were Supervisor Downey - and Justices Baker , Spaulding
and Whitford . Supervisor Downey presided .
The minutes of the August meeting were read for information .
A motion was made by Justice Spaulding Sparuldwing , seconded by
Justice Baker that the general bills , totaling $ 690 . 01 and the Youth
Project bills of 4270 . 56 , be paid as audited . Roll call vote , all
✓ oting Yes .
A motion was made by Justice Whitford , seconded. by Justice
Baker , that the Highway bills , totaling 41800 . 19 , be paid as audited ,
' Roll call vote , All voting Yes .
Supervisor Downey contacted the Baker Lumber Company and since
they agreed free service for one year on the gas heater , the contract
for the installing of the gas burner was let to them for their bid
o f 4$ 151 . 55
A communication was read from Margaret Hughes , submitting her
, resignation as Inspector of Election . A motion was made by Justice
Baker , seconded by Justice Whitford , that her resignation be accept *a
e d . Motion Carried .
Motion made by Justice Whitford , seconded by Jystice Spaulding ,
that Katrina Morse be appointed to act as Election Inspector in
District # 1 . Motion Carried .
A motion was made by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Spauld -
•ing , that Primary Day be held on Daylight Saving Time . Motion
Carried .
A request from Superintendent of Highway Beach , that he might
p attend the Highway Convention at Albany on September, 15716 - 17 .
Motion made by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Justice Whitford ,
that his request be granted . Motion Carried .
The complaint of Mrs . Hazel , regarding the Bridle Road , was
brought before the Board .
The report for the month of August of George Guest , Multiple
Dwelling Inspector , was read and placed on file .
The Board designated October 5 as the next meeting night .

J:-16 , 1 5 at-7 : 30 P . M . at the Town Office. Building . . , `
Present were Supervisor Downey , Justices Shaw , Spaulding ,
Whitford , Baker ; Attorney Charles Newman and Harold Clough , chairman
of the Town Assessors .
Application for a review under Art . 13 of the Tax Law and
assessment by Carl James , Petitioner , against the Town of Dryden ,
Respondent , was read .
After a discussion , a motion was made by Justice Whitford ,3
seconded by Justice Shaw , that Attorney Newman appear at the
opening of Court in the city of Binghamton on the First day of
October 1954 , for the Review under Article 13 of the Tax Law of
the State of New York , and that Attorney Newman use his judgement
and take such legal action as is required in dealing with this
petition . Roll call vote taken- All voting Yes .
On motion meeting, adjourned .
