Supervisor Robinson has spoken with Dorothy Ostrander about being Town Historian. She would like to be compensated for job. We curxently have designated $1,400 to the 'dawn Historical Society. Robinson as Delegate to the annual Association of Towns Meeting to be held in NYC on February 18 -21, 1990, and to appoint Colleen D. Pierson as an alternate. Lyle Raymond, the town's representative on the County Environmental Management Council, reported that the air and water quality committee in the County will be doing a survey in the County to find out how many underground tanks there are and if they are leaking and how old they are. The Board of Representatives have $7,000 available for this project. Cortland County has already undertaken this. Tompkins County hopes to start program in March with preliminary information back by end of June. Leland Cornelius, Highway Superintendent, would like to replace our 930 Cat loader which will need several repairs. He also would like to purchase a tractor /mower on State bid,just like the one we now have. For the time being, Mr. Cornelius will hold off on letting bids for a new dump truck, RESOLUTION NO, 2 - AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE TRACTOR/MOWER ON STATE BSID Moved by Mr. Haynes, seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Haynes, Robinson (Absent - Cummings) RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby authorize the Highway Superinten- dent to purchase one Ford 4610 and one Triumph 2500 mower with optional 6' mower for a total cost of $13,330. RESOLUTION NO. 3 - AUTHORIZATION TO LET BIDS FOR A NEW 1989 "WHEEL LOADER Moved by Mr. VanBenschoten, seconded by Mr. Sovocool • Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Haynes, Robinson RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby authorize the Highway Superintendent to Advertize for bids on a new 1989 Wheel Loader with bid opening to be on February 12, 1990, at 8 :00 P.M. at the Town Hall, Supervisor Robinson received at letter from DEC regarding John Anderson's dump clean up. The Town has already cleaned up site two or three times. Anderson is living in the house and stopped in the office to pick up a building permit. There are apparently toxic substances at the site. Supervisor will be in contact with Jim Mason of the County Board of Reps. Attorney Fitzgerald will call County Attorney. 0 Gary food, Cleric -of t.he- Woxk .s, reported on status of building project. VanBenschoten, seconded by Mr. Sovocool, that the Town urge the Commission to follow the proposed route through Groton and to make this decision expediently. Supervisor Robinson has had inquiries on incxeasing the exemption for the aged, limits on property taxes. We are currently at $10,000 income limit... Thme Village' and School axe at the same limits. It wa,s decided to contact the County to see what the income lima is axe in other Towns in.the County., No action was taken on the Land Use and Development changes a.
