August 3 , 1954 .
The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held on
August 3 , 1954 at 7 ; 30 P . M . at the Town Office Building .
Present were Supervisor Downey ; Supt . of Highway Beach ; and Justices
Baker , Spaulding , Shaw and ' Whitford .
The minutes -of the July meeting were read for information .
Moved by Justice Spaulding ',- seconded by Justice Shaw , that the
general bills , totaling $ 365 . 73 , and the youth project bills of
$ 34 . 05 , be paid as audited . Roll Call vote , all voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford , Seconded by Justice Baker that the
Highway bills , totaling $ 1741 . 3. 1 , be paid as audited . Roll call
vote taken , all voting Yes .
The ' July report of George Guest , Multiple Dwelling Inspector ,
was read and placed on file . .
Moved by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Whitford , that Nellie
Fulkerson be appointed as Inspector of Election in District No . 6 ,
in place of Helen Cross , who resigned . Motion Carried .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker , that Ernest
VanAlstine be appointed Attendance Supervisor for the Town of
Dryden for the ensuing year . Carried and so ordered .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker , that the
following places be designated as polling places for the year :
District No . 1 - - - - Town Hall - Varna
No . . 2 - - - - Houtz Hall - Etna
" No . 3 - - - - Village Fire Hall - Dryden
" No . 4- - - - West Dryden Church .
" No . 57 - - - Town Office. Building - Dryden
" No . 6 - - - - Fire Hall - Freeville .
Carried and so ordered .
Bids for gas conversion burner from the Hatter Fuel Co . , Baker
Lumber Co . and M . E . Vanpelt were opened and read , ' the bids
being as follows : -
Baker Lumber Co . - - - = 151 . 55
Hatter Fuel Co . 175 . 00
M . E . Vanpelt $ 262 . 00
Motion made by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding ,
that the Supervisor contact the Baker Lumber Co .. , and if a sat -
isfactory guarantee is given , the town accept their bid for
$ 151 . 55 .. Roll call Vote , All voting Yes .
Minutes of this meeting were read and approved .
On motion by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Whitford ,
Meeting adjourned . Leona Fortner , Town Clerk .
