HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-06-03 155 June 3 , 1954 . The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town 'ioar'd was held at the Town Office Building on June 3 , 1954 at 7 : 30 P . M . Present were Supervisor Downey , Justices Whitford , Shaw , Baker and Spaulding and Supt . of Highways Beach . The Supervisor presided . The minutes of the last meeting were read for information . Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Justice Whitford , that the General Bills , totaling $ 528 . 64 , plus the $ 200 . 00 for the Varna Fire Contract , and the Youth Project bills of $ 174 . 83 , be paid as audited . Roll call vote taken , All voting Yes . Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker , that the Highway bills , totaling $ 2601 . 63 , be paid as naudited . . Roll call vote , All voting Yes . Miss Stella Trapp appeared before the Board and was heard regarding her project of compiling the history and work of the Town officers1over a period of the past ten years , the work to be in con- junction with the Town Historian . The Board decided she .should be reimbursed for material used , and they also empowered her to purchase two scrap books to be used in her work . Several communications were read , A Certificate of Insurance by the H . A . Carey Insurance Co . on George Guest , Multiple Building Inspector , was read and filed in the Town Clerks office . Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Shaw that the following resolution be adopted : Resolved : Where- as the Superintendent of Highways , Stacey Beach , recommends for 1955 , under the Erwin plan , the improvement of the Creek Road No . 49 - from Co . V Road 161 to Road 164 , that the Dryden Town toard approves this recommendation and adoption . Roll call vote taken , all voting Yes . Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded. by Justice Baker , that in as much as neither the Republican or Democratic chairmen of the County Committees submitted a list of Inspectors of Election , that the ones now serving continue for the coming year . June 4 , 1954 , to inspect the ' 'arford road , relative to new locations and changes to be made on the road , prior to letting bids . - Justice Shaw made a motion , seconded by Justice Baker , that Justice Whitford be empowered to proceed with the installa - tion of the . umbi-ng;, in the Town Garage , according to the State specifications .
