March 3 - 1954 .
The regular monthly meeti ng of the Town Board was held on
March 3 - 1954 at 7 : 30 P . M . at the Town Office Building .
Present were Supervisor Downey , Justices Whitford , Shaw , Baker ,
Spaulding and. Suerintendent of Highway Beach .
The minutes of the last meeting were read for information .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Shaw that the
G eneral bills , Totaling 4423 . 53 and the Youth Project bills - 434 . 154PO4
be paid as audited . Carried by roll call vote , all justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker that the
H ighway bills totaling 43210 . 57 be paid as audited . Carried by roll
call vote , all justices voting Yes .
The Board of Assessors of the Town , Harold Clough , Ralph
D ellows , and Claude Bascom were present and Chairman Clough discussed
the card system with the Board , also the assessment rate on trailors
in this township .
Mr . Warner and Mr . Spear from Snyder Hill were present and
expressed concern over the ,cutting of trees along the highway near
their property . Supt . of Highway Beach said that he would meet with
them at their places and look over the situation and mark such trees
as they wished undisturbed .
The agreement made between Stacy Beach , Highway Supt . , and
the Town , Board regarding expenditure of Highway Item No . 1 monies 4
` for maintainance- and reconstruction of roads for 1954 was signed by
the board members and sent to the County Supt . of Highways for his
approval .
The Board approved of the contract for spraying. of weeds
and brush along the HiQhway , not exceeding 25 milec , as proposed by
Supt . of Highway Beach . .
After .a discussion of the Race Track Town Ordinance ,
Justice Whitford made the motion , seconded by Justice Spaulding ,
that this ordinance be removed from the table . Motion Carried . •
Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that the request
for the adoption of the race track ordinance be rejected . Roll call
vote taken , all justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded . by Justice Whitford ,
that the Highway Superintendent advertise for bids for sluice pipe ,
Carried by roll call vote . All justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded. by Justice Baker , that
43000 . 00 be transferred from surplus funds to budget item Town
Garage . Motion Carried .
Justice Shaw was appointed to contact Geode Guest to
see if he would act as Building Inspector of Multiple Dwellings .

Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker ,
that the resolution , authorizing the disposition of old records ,
pursuant to Section 114 of the regulations of the Commissioner of
Education be adopted . Motion Carried .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker ,
that the resolution relative to the recommendation by the New
York Good Roads Association to the Legislature be adopted .
Motion Carried .
The next regular meeting of the town board - will be held
on April 6th . •
Minutes of meeting were read and approved .
On motion meeting adjourned .
