Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , High- way Superintendent Stacy Beaches and Justices Baker . Spaulding and Whitford : Supervisor Downey presided . Moved by Justice Spaulding- and seconddd by Jus - tice Whitford that the general bills amounting to 0263 , 36 with the Youth rojectbills amoumt .ing to $ 282 . 85 totalmng0526 . 06 be paid as audited . A roll call vote was taken . All Board Members voted " YES " - Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Jus - tice Baker t hat all Highway Bills amounting totigt2&2 xxnkxx std $ 1530 . 14 be paid as audited. MEETII\ G AUGUST 24 , 19 ;3 . • A special meeting was called by the Town Board of the Town of Dryden in the Town Office Building August 24 , 1953at 7 : 30 p . m to didcuss the matter of providing an ordinance to regulzte the conduetof the new " speedway " located on Highway 13 and the Midline Road . The four Justices , Spaulding , baker , Whitford and Shaw were present , Supervisor Downey presided . *h There was a delegation of eight persons representing the people who live near the locatiDn of the ' speed wa-Y " - . They presented a petition to the Board to . ` . adopt an appropriate ordinance which would prohibit motor racing in the Township . This petition had 50 signers . . It was pointed out tha t the race track will be a dangerous highway haz. zard because of its nearness to the intersection of the two highways . It was further pointed out that altho the Town Board at this time has no authority to prevent stock car races , it might adopt an ordinance which could regulate the conduct which could prevent the race track from becoming a public nuisance . It was moved by Justice Baker and Seconded by Justice Shaw that a public hearing will be held on Thursday evening September lOth , 1953 at . 8 o clock p . m . for the pilrpose of enacting an ordinance ;IA the Town law , to prphibiiprohibit motor car racing which will . a detriment tothe peaeeand welfare of _ the people . This meeting will be held ' in the village Hall on South Street in the, Village of Dryden Sppt , . 10 , 1933 A roll call vote was taken .
