Roll call vote was taken All justices voting YES . Moved By Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Baker that all Highway bills amounting to 4x 1073 . 18 be paid as audited . Roll call vote . NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVEDthat this board go on record as favoring a revision of the- bonding law whereby the amount of the bond of the Town Collector be fixed at an amount not in excessof the maneytto be handled by said Collector regardless of the amount of the Tax Warrent , and that the feefor the • same be fixed at theminimum rate set up in the present law for full coverage of the tax warrent . Motion carried Moved by Justice Bgkebeand seconded by Justice Whitford that the Tompkins County Rural News be designated as the official newspaper for the Town of Dryden during the year 1953 . Carried and so ordered . Moved byJustice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Whitford that the regular monthly meetings of the Town Board for the year ' 1953w111 be held on the 3rd of each month or as near the 3rd as possiblex as aszreedu upon by the Board . RESOLUTION REQUESTING LEGISLATION TO ` ELIMINATE THE FIFTH JUSTICE OF THE PEACE IN THE TOWN ODRYDEN . . • WHEREAS by chapter 575 of the laws of . 1881 the town was_ authorized to elect an additional ' Justice of the Peace . besides the number of • justices:"Bellowed by the general laws of the State ofNew York ; and whereas.emI124s5boa .rd t fPespt.hattienh improved roads and improved Cm methods . of Trensportation there is no long - er a need foe five "•ustices of the peace ; and ' where as this is an opportune timeto make. the - change by reason - of the fact that there is a vacancy now in one of the officesodit: ust - ice of - the peace RESOLVED that this board hereby request the enactment of the 1 egislation which will eliminate the additthbnalj justice of the peace to the town of Dryden and provide that the said • Town will hereafter be governed by the general laws pertaining to this subject : AN BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT CERTIFIED copies be sent by the clerk to Assemblyman Ray C Ashberry and Senator- elect Dutton S . The other two assessors are to receive $ 350 at the beginning of the 7 th month or the 1st of `July , the balance to be paid at the discretion of the Town Board .
