HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-04-03 101 'April 3 , 1952 I The regular meeting of the Town Board of Dryden was held on Thursday , April 3 at 7 : 30 P . M . at the Town Clerk ' s Office in Dryden . Present were Supervisor Downey , Highway Superintendent Stacy Beach and Justices Whitford , Spaulding , Baker and Shaw . Supervisor Downey presided . Minutes of the previous meeting were read for information . The fingerprints of the Constables , Reed , Weiser and Carpenter w ere presented . One set was to remain on file in the Clerk ' s o ffice . A. suplicate was sent to the Crominal Office in Albany . Mention was made of dispensing with post office box . It • was decided to keep the box as usual . Mr . Stewart Williams and C . R . Wooley reported on the forming o f a new voting district in the Ellis Hollow and Bethel Grove area . Motion made by Justice Shaw and seconded by Justice Whitford that Mr . Downey should consult a voting machine company as to the possibility of obtaining a voting machine and date of delivery , . and make his report to the board . Roll call of Justices taken w ith all Justices voting Yes . Reports of the Farm Bureau Insurance Co . by Mr . Vaughn on his inventory of the town ' s equipment . Moved by Justice SpauldinF and seconded by 3ustice Shaw that the general bills amounting to , 43387 . 70 be paid as read . Carried by a roll call vote of the Justices with all Justices voting Yes . Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Baker that all highway bills which amounted to #1961 . 50 plus #4600 for new Brockway truck should be paid as audited . Roll call vote Of the Justices taken with all Justices voting Yes . Supervisor Downey reported on the repairs which were being done in Varna on the Hall . It is necessary to put a new wall under the building . By a little extra excavating it is possible to put in a basement . The men are willing to do the work of putting on the roof and building the wall if the materials are provided . Moved by Justice Shaw and seconded by Justice Baker that the materials be provided for the project . Roll call of . Ju% tices were taken with all Justices voting Yes . Motion made by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Shaw that there should be a special meeting on Monday April 7 at 7 : 30 to discuss insurance rates with Mr . Bailey/ Motion was carried . Justices Spaulding , Whitford and. . Shaw and Highway Supt . Beach were present . There was a discussion but no action was taken . The insurance committee was to study the policies and report back to the board at the next meeting . Discussion as to the time for the next meetin.cr .
