HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-11-02 89 NOVEMBER 2 , 1951 The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Dryden was held on November 2nd . , 1951 at 7 : 30 P . M . Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacy Beach and Justices Harry Spaulding , Alvord Baker , Dewey Whitford , and Francis Shaw . Supervisor Downey presiding . The Board of Assessors were also present . The Notice of the Public Hearing on the Preliminary Budget as published was read at 7 : 30 P . M . opening the Publie Hearing . Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Shaw that the General bills totaling $ 200 . 47 plus the Varna , Etna and Bethel Grove Youth Project bills totaling $ 116 . 38 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes . Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Baker that the Highway bills totaling $ 1051 . 53 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes . Justice Shaw offered the following resolution and asked its adoption RESOLVED , that the Town Board of the Town of Dryden does hereby sponser Three ( 3 ) Youth recreational Projects as approved by the New York State Youth Commission as requested by the Bethel Grove Community Home , Inc . ; Etna Community and Varna Community Assoc . Seconded by Justice Spaulding . Carried and so ordered . Moved by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Whitford that Mrs Anna Moravec of Freeville , N . Y . RD# 1 , be appointed Dog Enumerator of the 1952 Census for the Town of Dryden, Carried by a Roll can vote . All Justices voting Yes . Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Spaulding that Nov . 9th . be designated as Fall Road Tour Day . Carried and so ordered . There being no interesting persons present the hearing on the preliminary Budget closed at 8 : 30 P . M . Justice Spaulding offered the following resolution and asked its adoption WHEREAS , this Town Board has met at the time and place specified in the notice of public hearing on the Preliminary Budget and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon : now , therefore , be it RESOLVED / that this Town Board does hereby adopt such Preliminary Budget as orginnally compiled , as the Annual Budget of this Towmfor the fiscal year beginning on the 1st . day of January 1952 , and that such budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the minutes of the proceedingsof this Town Board , and be it FUTHER RESOLVED , that the Town Clerk of this Town shall prepare and certify, in duplicate , copies of said Annual budget as adopted by this Town Board , together with estimates , if any , adopted pursuant to Sec . 202 - a , sub . 2 , of the Town Law and deliver one copy thereof to the Supervisor of this Town to be presented by him to the Board of Supervisors of this County . Seconded by Justice Shaw . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices YES Moved by Justice Shaw and seconded by Justice Whitford that this meeting be recessed until Nov . 9th . , 1951 at 9 : 00 A . M . . Carried and so ordered . The recessed meeting of Nov . 2nd . reconvened on Nov . . 9th . at 9 : 00 A . M . . Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacy Beach -and Justices Harry Spaulding , Alvord Baker , Dewey Whitford and Francis Shaw . Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Shaw that the Election expense bills totaling $ 967 . 30 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll Call vote . All Justices voting Yes . over • 90 The next regular monthly meeting will be held on December 5th . at 7 : 30 P . M . The minutes of these meetings were read and. approved .
