HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-01-03 73 January 3 , 1951 The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town "of Dryden was held on January 3rq. 1951 at 7 : 30 P . M . Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Highway Superintendant Stacy Beach , Justices , Harry Spaulding, Alvord Baker , Ara Johnson , Dewey Whitford and Francis Shaw . The minutes of the December 6th meeting were read for in- formation and the December 29th annual audit meeting -minutes were read and approved as corrected . Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Shaw that the general bills totaling 6751 . 50 plus the youth project bills of - #198 . 73 `be paid as ordered . Carried by a roll call vote . All justices voting " Yes . " I Moved by Justice Whitford and ' seconded by Justice Johnson that the highway bills totaling $1 , 164 . 75 be paid as ordered . Carried by a roll call vote . All justices voting " Yes . " Moved by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Spaulding that the Tompkins County Rural News be designated as the official newspaper for the Town of Dryden during the year 1951 . Carried and so ordered . Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Whitford that the regular monthly meetings of the Town Board for the year 1951 will be held on the 3rd of each month or as near the 3rd as possible as agreed upon by the Board . Meetings to be called at 7 : 30 P . M . until further notice . Carried and so - ordered . Supervisor Chas . Downey appointed the following comittees for the year 1951 . Highway - Justice Whitford and Justice Johnson . General - Justice Spaulding and Justice Shaw . Justice Baker alternate on either Highway of General . Insurance - Justice Shaw and Justice Whitford . " Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Johnson that the assessors and the Town Clerk delivering school trustee supplies be allowed mileage of $ . 06 per mile . Carried . • Moved by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Spaulding that Justice Francis Shaw be designated as a representative to the • Association of Towns annual meeting to be held at Buffalo on Feb . 6th thru 8th and Justice Ara Johnson be designated alternate to the store - said meeting . Carried . Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Shaw that the salaries for the town officers be set as accepted in the budget with the exeeption of the Assessors salaries and that their increase in salary be subject to their compliance with the law Sec . 20 Tax Law Carried by roll call vote . All justices voting " Yes . " i - • :� n 74 . • Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Shaw that the time of payment of the officers salaries are as follows : Supervisor , Town Clerk and Justices Spaulding and Whitford on the first of each month . The balance of the ustices every three months the first payment on the first of Aril . L The Highway Superintendent twice a month on the 1st and 15th . The assessors receive half of _ their salary on the first of July nd the remainder of the salary when earned . Carried by a roll call vote . All justices voting , " Yes . " The next regular meeting will be held on February 3rd at 7 : 30 P . M . . Minutes of this meeting were read and approved .
