SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of
Cortlandville was held at the Town Hall, 15 Terrace Road,
Cortland, New York with Supervisor Stanley Nadolski
presiding.
Members present: Supervisor Stanley Nadolski
Councilman Melvin Pierce
Councilman Edwin O'Donnell
Councilman Ray Thorpe
Town Clerk Pauline Parker
Absent: Councilman Warren Manning
Others present were Assessor, David Briggs; Highway
Sup't., Carl Bush and Newsreporter, Michele Catz.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Nadolski at 4:30 p.m.
Supervisor Nadolski requested the Town Board to
appoint Assessor, David Briggs as temporary Code Enforce-
ment Officer of the Town.
Assessor, David Briggs, requested that he not be
appointed to this position at the present time as his
work schedule does not allow for it. He is very busy
with the assessment update.

Motion by Councilman Pierce
Seconded by Councilman O'Donnell
VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED
WHEREAS a vacancy has occurred due to the resignation
of Massimo Sammons, therefore,
BE IT' RESOLVED that the Town Engineer, Hayne Smith,
is hereby appointed as temporary Code Enforcement Officer
of the Town. of Cortlandville, until a replacement occurs.
The Town Clerk submitted to the Town Board the 1986
Preliminary Budget and a written memo asking them to
reconsider her budget request as it showed only a salary
increase for 1986 and nothing for 1987.
A discussion followed concerning the request.

WHEREAS, the tentative budgets of the Town, including
$ 43,000.00 of the estimated Federal Revenue Sharing
Funds, and Water Fund, Sewer Fund and Fire District for
year 1986, were presented by the Town Clerk, to the Town
Board at a regular meeting held October 2, 1985, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed said tentative budget
and has made such changes, alterations and revisions as
it considers advisable and are consistent with the law,
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED that the tentative budget for the Town of
Cortlandville, as modified, be, and the same hereby is,
approved and adopted as the preliminary budget of the
Town of Cortlandville for the fiscal year beginning
January 1, 1986, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the tentative budget for the
Water Fund, as modified, be, and the same hereby is
approved and adopted as a preliminary budget of the Water
Fund for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1986, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the tentative budget for the
Sewer Fund, as modified, be, and the same hereby is,
approved and adopted as a preliminary budget of the Sewer
Fund for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1986, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the tentative budget for the
Cortlandville Fire District, as received, be, and the
same hereby is, approved and adopted as a preliminary
budget of the Cortlandville Fire District for the fiscal
year commencing January 1, 1986.
Councilman Thorpe made a motion, seconded by Councilman
O'Donnell, to adjourn the meeting. All voting aye, the
motion was carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:35 p.m.
