Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy , Supt ;
Stacy Beach and Justices Harry Spaulding ; Alvord Baker , Dewey Whitford
and Francis Shaw ;
Supervisor Downey presiding .
Notice of the Public Hearing on the Preliminary
Budget as published was read" and the Hearing opened at _7 : 30 P . M .
The minutes of the October 2nd , meeting were read
for information only .
Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice

A letter from the State of New York , Public Service
.Commission was read-, announcing the holding of a Hearing on additional
protection at .the grade crossing of the tracksEof the Lehigh Valley
Railroad and McLean Road " in the Hamlet , of McLean , to be held on Dec; 5th
att the Court House , Cortland , N . Y. . at 2 : 00_ P , M , The Board decided to
refer this Communication to the County Highway Superintendent as the
road named in this petition is a County Road ;
. Also a letter from the League of Women- Voters , Mrs
Earl DeMotte , President , was read in regards to more information as to
The Polling Placesnfor new residents and new .voters in the Town.
There being no interested. persons present the hearing;
on the Preliminary budget closed at 8 : 30 P . M. .

Justice Whitford offered the following resolution

WHEREAS , this Town Board has met at the time and - -
place specifiedf in the notice of public hearing: on
the Preliminary budget and heard all persons desiring
to be heard:. thereon ; now , therefore , be it
RESOLVED , that this Town Board does hereby adopt such
preliminary budget as orginnally complied , as the
annual budget of this Town for the fiscal year
beginning on the 1st ; day of January , 1951 , and that
such budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the
minutes of the proceedings of this Town Board., , and
be it. .
FUTHER .RESOLVE4 that the Town Clerk of this Town
sha11 _ , preparew and certify , , in duplicate , copies of
sal& annual budget as adopted by this Town Board , to-
gether with estiriiates ; if any , adopted pursuant_ to
Sec:. 202-a , sub.d . 2 , of the Town. Law . and deliver onei •
copy thereof. to the Supervisor of this Town. to be
presented by him- to the Board of Supervisors of this

Baker that this meeting be recessed .until Nov . 8th. 1956 at
7 : 30 P . M . Carried and so ordered ;

Justice Baker offered the following resolutiooi
and asked its adoption:.
RESOLVED , . that the Town _ Board of the Town of
' Dryden does hereby. sponser Three ( 3 ) Youth
Recreational_ Projects as approved by the New
York State Youth- Commission as requested by
the Bethel Grove Community 'Home , Inc . , Etna
Community and Varna Community Assn;
Seconded byrJustice Spaulding;
Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting
Yes ;
. A ' . discussion^ was had . in regards to the purchase
of a Truck to replace the Brockway 1936 : . truck that was smashed .
inthe accident ; It was decided to table this matter until a
full Board was present . This was moved by Justice Whitford and
seconded by Justice Baker ; Carried ; .

- SPECIAL MEETING
A Special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of
Dryden was held on November 14th . , 1950 at 7 : 30 P . M .
Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy Supt .
Stacy Beach and Justices Spaulding , Baker , Johnson , Whitford and
Shaw .
Minutes of the reconveened meeting on November 8th .
were read and approved .
Moved by Justice Whitford that the resolution in
regards to Fire District appropriations adopted on October 2nd .
be amended to include Mc Lean Fire Co . on a 5 year contract for
100 . annually . Seconded by Johnson .
Carried by a roll call vote , All Justices voting Yes .
Justice Shaw moved the following resolution and asked
its adoption
WHEREAS : the Highway Superintendent of the Town
of , Dryden has recommended the purchase of a Truck
costing not to exceed $ 9175 . , the Town Board
will meet to consider such purchase at the Town
Office Building on November 20th . , 1950. between the
hours of E130 P . M . and 8 : 30 P . M . and will hear
all property owners interested concerning same .
Seconded bt Justice Whitford . Carried and so ordered .
The next regular monthly meeting of the Town Board
will be held on December ' 4th . , 1950 at 7 : 30 P . M .
Moved by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice
Shaw that the Town Clerk write a letter of Thank You to the
Town Board of the Town of Ithaca for the Basket of Flowers
sent for the Opening Ntbght of the New Town Building on
November 10th . , 1950 .
The minutes of this meeting have been read and
approved .
Moved by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice
Shaw that the meeting be adjourned .
