The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town.
of Dryden was held on February 3 , 1950 at 7 : 30 P . M .
Notice of the Public Hearing was read , opening the hearing;
Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacy
Beach: . and Justices Spaulding , Baker , Johnson , Whitford-and Shaw ; .
Supervisor Downey presiding ;
The minutes of the January 3rd . meeting were read - and
approved ;
Mr Emmons Ogden and Mee J . Cyler Page of the Ellis_ Hollow
Road were present to discuss with the Members of the Board , the
advisability and possibility of Fire protection ponds . LawsEandLL
procedures governing the building of the ponds was discussed but
� .. nothing definite decided upon ;
Mr Jacob-. Hiebie and Mr Hollis Clark were present to
discuss : with the Board the condition of the Hunt Hill road on which:.
they live . It was decided to include this road on the Spring Road Tour;
The Public Hearing closed at 8 : 45 P . M .
Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Shaw4
that the General bills Totaling $ 1141 ; 45 plus the Bethel Grove : Youth
Project bill of 4 68 ; 78 be paid as audited ; Carried by a roll call
vote ; All Justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Baker
that the Highway bills totaling $ 801; 85 be paid as audited . Carried
by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Baker
that the Town Officals Bonds be approved as to form and sufficpency-
of Surety : Carried and so ordered ;
- Supervisor Downey appointed . his Committees for the year
1950 . as follows
Highway - - Justices Whitford and Johnson.
General - - Justice Spaulding and Shaw
Alternate - Justice Baker on Both above Committees;
Insurance - Justice Shaw and Baker
Youth - - Justices Baker , : Shaw and Spaulding
Town Building - - Justice Johnson and Supervisor Downey
Justice Baker moved( that L . D . Tripp be given the
Contract for the Town of Dryden Gasoline at Tank wagon price , that
the pump be kept in metering order and that the Sealer of Wts . and
measures check this pump at the same time as the retail pumps or at
any requested time . Seconded by Justice Shaw . Carried by a roll call
vote . All Justices voting Yes .
Bids for a Tractor - dozer were opened and discussed .
Bids wree received from the Syracuse Supply Company ; Milton-Hale
Machinery Company and Charles Blackwell of Horseheads .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Shaw
that the Town of Dryden purchase at a cost of $ 10 , 399 . a . Caterpillar
Diesel 76 Tractor - and Angle - dozer from the Syracuse Supply Co . Delivery:
to be made April 1st . 1950 ; Carried by a roll call vote ; All Justices
voting Yes ; .
Supervisor Downey appointed Justices Whitford , Spaulding -
and Shaw as a Committee on Fire Protection to consult with all
interested Delegations .
