HomeMy WebLinkAbout1949-10-03 • • OCTOBER 3 , 1949 The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Dryden was held at the Town Clerks office on October 3rd : 1949 at 7 : 30 P . M . Present were Supervisor Charles G . Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacy Beach and Justices Harry Spaulding , Alvord Baker , An Johnson , and Dewey Whitford . Supervisor Downey presiding . The minutes of the Sept . 2nd . meeting were read for information . Moved by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Spaulding that the General bills totaling $ 163 . 11 plus the Bethel Grove youth project bills totaling $ 18; 77 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting. Yes; Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Johnson that the Highway bills totaling $ 1530 : 52 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes ; After a discussion of the Town Disposal it was decided that the general public was to be informed again that the Public Health Law states that only ASHES , TIN CANS „ WIRE and SMALL RUBBISH GA , e. may be put in the Disposal , NO PAPERS , CARDBOARD BOXES , or ANY THING THAT CAN BE BURNED , any violation of Article 166 , Section-. 1740 is punishable by Penal Law 1754 : Moed by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Whitford that the rate of pay for the Inspectors of Elections remain the same asthe previous year as follows : Short Registration day $ 6 . 00 ; Long Registration day $ 7' OO ; . Primary day $ • 8 . 00 ; General Election day $ 10. 00 ; Instruction Meeting $ 17: 00 plus $x-: 04 a mile each way which is the legal rate of mileage . Carried and so ordered . Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Baker that the Custodians rate of pay remain as in the previous Year , 40; 00 for each Custodian . Carried and so ordered . • Justice Johnson offered the following Resolution and asked its adoption RESOLVED , that this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the lst : day of January , 1950 , the itemized statements of the estimated revenues and the expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this resolution , . . and be it FUTHER RESOLVED , that that Preliminary budget shall. • be " • "A filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any interested person at all resonable hours , and be it FUTHER RESOLVED , that this Board shall meet between the hours of 7 : 30 and 8 : 30 P . M . on the 3rd . day of November 1949 for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon: such preliminary budget , and be it - FUTHER RESOLVED , that the Town Clerk give notice • of such public hearing; in the manner provided in Sec . 113 • of the Town Law , and that such noyice be published '` Carried and so ' ordered: The regular monthly meeting will be held on November 3rd, 1949 at 7 : 30 P .
