Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacy . Beach. and Justices . Harry Spaulding , Orrie Cornelius , Alvord Bake; Ara Johnson. and Dewey Whitford , . Supervisor Downey presiding . . • Minutes of the Feb . 3rd . meeting were read for information Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Cornelius that the General bills totaling; * 361 . 06 plus Bethel Grove bills # 131 . 05 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes . • Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Johnson. that the Highway bthlla totaling 1 650 . 34 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes . • Moved by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Spaulding that $ 4 . 74 be transfered from the Contingent Fund to Official Bonds and Undertakings item . Carried and so ordered . A letter from Supervisor Edward Walpole of the Town of Groton was read asking the Town 'Board of the Town of Drydeb to enact an ordinance prohibiting the ' dump4ng of: garbage in the Gravel bed in Lot 8 belonging to the Town of Groton . Justice Whitford offered the following resolution and asked its adoption Inasmuch as a request from the Town Board of the Town of Groton , New York , Dated February 24th , 1949 and on file with the Town Clerk of the Town of Dryden , New York , I move that a resolution be adopted that Lot # 8 situated on the McLean and Peru road in the Town of Dryden and owned by the Town of Groton , New York , may become known as a disposal for. ashes and small rubbish only and that a sign be erected by the Town of Groton and at the expense of the Town 6f Groton ,prohibiting the use of said disposal for garbage or other waste matter or any violation of Article 166 , Section 1740 -1754 Penal Law . Seconded by Justice Cornelius . Carried by asroll call vote . All Justice voting Yes ; . Communications received from Wheeler Milmoe , Chairman of the Public - Education Committee and Chauncey B . Hammond , Senator from this District were read . A2letter of Appreciation and Thank You to the Dryden Grange No . 1112 for the Memorial erected at the Dryden Village Park was signed by all Members of the Town Board Supervisor Downey gave a report on the meetings which he attended at the Annual Association of Towns meeting held Feb:: 16 th ; . through 19th . at New York City Supervisor Downey brought to the attention of the Town. Board the urgent need of blood donors to keep the Blood Bank filled for any emergency , the help that anyone can give will be greatly appreciated . . Moved by justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Cornelius . that March 10th , 1949 be the date set for the Spring road tour . Members of the Board to meet at the Town Clerks office at ( 9 : A . M . Moved by Justice Cornelius and -seconded by Justice Johnson that a Special meeting be called after the road Tour to transact any business as may come before the Board . Carried and so ordered . The next Monthly meeting will be held April 4th. , 1949 at 7 : 30 P . M . Minutes of this meeting read and approved . On motion the meetin was adjourned Lois H . Beck , Town Clerk Charles G . M . for the purpose of inspecting the roads- Of the Town -of Dryden: At 1 : 30 P . M . a Special meeting was called to order. Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , .Hwy . Sup ' t . Stacy Beach and Justices Harry Spaulding , Orris Cornelius , Alvord - Baker , Ara Johnsowand Dewey Whitford . Moved by Justice Cornelius and Seconded by Justice Spat3iiding: that the Bethel Grove, bill of • 35 : 10 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote , All Justices voting Yea; . • I/ Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Johnson that ':. 48 ; 96 be transferred from the Contingent Fund to the Assessors Office expense . Carried and so ordered . Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Johnson that the following resolution be adopted : . WHEREAS : the Highway Superintendent of the Town of . Dryden) has recommended the purchase of a MOTOR GRADER costing in excess ofj 500 . 00 , the Town Board will meet- to consider such purchase at the Town Clerks office on FRIDAY , MARCH 25th , : 1949. between the hours of 7 : 30 P . M . and 8 : 30 P . M. and will hear all property owners : interested concerning the same: Carried by a roll call vote ; All JusticesEvoting YES ; Moved by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Spaulding that the Stup ' t ; of Highways advertise for sealed bids on a MOTOR GRADER for the Highway Department . Carried and so ordered ; Agreements for the Expenditure of Highway Monies for the year 1949 was duly signed by the Supervisor and the Members of the Town .
