M . . . . Present were Supervisor Charles G . Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacy,? Beach and Justices Harry Spaulding , Orrie Cornelius , Ara Johnson- and Dewey Whitford;. - Supervisor Downey presiding . . Assessors William B . Strong , Harold Clough and Ralph Dellow also were present. . Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Cornelius that the General bills . totaling # 381 . 97 and Bethel Grove # 74 . 55 = be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . A1LL Yes 6 . • Moved by Justice Whitford : and seconded by Justice Johnson that the Highway bills totaling * 1604 . 85 be paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . Ali Justices voting Yes . The Members of the Board and the Assessorsdiscussed the Card systemJof assessing properties , . it was decided that this system would not be advisable at this time . • Supervisor Downey appointed Justice Whitford as a committee: of one to work with Hwy . Supt , Stacy Beach on the purchase of tires and oil for; the Highway . department . Justice Whitford and Justice Johnson reported on the inspection of the voting booths at District No . 5 , An order was placed for one or more sets as can be obtained with a few recommendations . Justice CorneliusEmoved the following resolution and asked its adoption, seconded by Justice Whitford; WHEREAS, on the 3rd . day. of February , 1949 at the Regular monthly meeting , the MembersEof the Town Board of the Town . of Dryden; Tompkins County and State of New York adopted the following resolution; - ' - " : RESOLVED , that the Town Board of the Town of Dryden is . definitely opposed.. to the State University Law Be It Futher Resolved , that the Clerk of the Town of Dryden be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Senator and Assemblyman from this District: , ; to Henry W . Griffith , . Chairman-: of the Senate Committee on Public Education- and to: Wheeler Milmoe , Chairman of the House Committee on Public - Education. The next monthly meeting will be held at the Town Clerks office on March 3 , 1949 at 7 : 30 P . M . The minutes of this meeting were read and approved .
