Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting` Yes . • Moved by Justice ' Johnson.- and seconded by Justice Whitford: , that the Highway bills totaling $p 994 : 72 be ' paid as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . A11 . Justices voting Yes . RESOLVED; that a public hearing be held at -_ Bethel Grove Community Hall in the Town of Dryden- on the 2gth , day of_ ' October , 1948 , at 8 : 00 P . M . for the purpose of considering - • a proposed contract with the Brooktondale Fire District for additional fire protection in the southwest corner of the Town of Dryden Fire Protection District ; : and that a notice of ' such hearing be published once in the Tompkins County Rural Newa& at least ten days prior to the hearing; Seconded by Justice Cornelius . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes , . Justice Johnson offered the following resolution and asked its adoption : . M . - on October 20 , 1948 , at Bethel Grove Community Hall as • the Hearing was called to order ; After the discussion , Justice Orrie Cornelius offered the following resolution and asked its adoption , WHEREAS , after due notice a public hearing was held on the 20th , day of October , 1948 for the consideration of a proposed contract with the Brooktondale Fire District for additional fire protection in the southwest corner of the town of Dryden' Fire Protection District ; RESOLVED , that this Board contract with the said Brooktondale Fire District for the furnishing of fire protection to the • territory specified in the said contract upon terms therein specified , and be , it futher resolved , that the contract as prepared by Attorney Charles H . Newman be excuted on behalf of this Board by the members hhereof , and a signed copy of said contract be filed with the Town Clerk , - Seconded by Justice Dewey Whitford ; Carried by a roll call vote ; All Justices voting Yes ; A motion made by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Baker that the meeting be adjourned ; Lois H . Town of Dryden Fire Protection District, and of hearing all persons interested in the sub- ject concerning the same. • • The proposed contract provides in substance that for a period of • two years, from January 1, 1949 to December 31, 1950,_in considera- III e . Lion of $200.00 per year and .sub- ject to certain limitations specp .fied in the contract, the Brookton- . ' dale Fire Department will respond. to calls for the extinguishment of fires occurring in the southwest , corner of the Town of Dryden ' south and west of the Ellis Hollow • Road, and not including the prop- , erties on that road. Each item of the Preliminary budget was read and reveiw- ed ; At 9 : 30 P . M . , no interested persons, being present At was moved by Justice Cornelius and seconded By Justice Baker that the Public hearing meeting be adjourned and the Board go into executive session to ad, tzst and adopt the Annual budget ; Justice Harry Spaulding offered the following resolution and moved its adoption , a . WHEREAS , this Town Board , has met at the time and place specified in the notice of public hearing on the Preliminary budget and heard all personsdesiring to be heard thereon ; now , be its 0 RESOLVED that the preliminary budget be amended by making the following changes, therein That the ap ropriatipn for the Justices of Peace be reduced from 43 2985 ; 00 to 4 2635 . 00 ; That the .appropriation for ITEM 11 in the estimate of expenditures for highways be reduced from $ 1500 to $ 1000 . 00 That the appropriation for ITEM 111 in the estimate of expenditures for highways be reduced from 12 , 000 ; 00 to `ft 10 , 000 ; 00 That the appropriation for ITEM 1V in the estimate of expenditures for highways be reduced from $ 13 , 750 to 11 , 750 ; 00 ; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED , that such preliminary budget as hereinbefore amended , be and hereby is - adopted as the Annual budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st ; day of January 1949 and that such budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the minutes of the proceedings of this Town Board , , and be it :.
