The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of
the Town of Dryden was held at the Town Clerks Office on Karch
1st , 1948 at 7 : 00 p , m .
Present were Sup . Charles G . Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacey
Beach and Justices Harry. Spaulding , Orrie Cornelius , Alvord Baker ,
Ara Johnson and Dewey Whitford .
Supervisor Downey presiding .

The minutes of the February 2 , 1948 meeting were read
for information .
Mr . Kenneth Marquis of Freeville , N . Y . was present
to discuss with the members of the board the repair of thg Hill
Road which passes his farm . This road to be included on the lit
spring tour . •
A letter from Chas . H . Newman , County Attorney , was
read concerning the conveyance of the West Dryden property to
the Town of Dryden . After a discussion it was movedtby Justice
Johnson and seconded by Justice Conelius that the attorney be .
instivcted to continue proceedings to clear the title of said
property at a fee not in excess of $ 259 . 99... Carried and so
ordered .
Justice Cornelius offered the following resolution
and moved its adoption :

Resolved : That this Town Board . hereby requests
the board of Supervisors to include the volunteer
firemen and all Town of Dryden empliyees while .
performing their . duties in the Town of Dryden , in
the County and Town mutual . self insurance plan
under the Workmans Compensation Law for the full
protection allowed . by law . Seconded by Justice
Spaulding . Carried and so ordered .

, 5th at 7 : 00 p , m .
Justice Spaulding offered the following resolution
and moved its adoption : . •
H . Resolved : That the Town Board of the Town of Dryden
hereby requests the State Traffic Commission to re -
strict the speed at which vehicles may proceed to ,
30 miles per hour on or along the following portion .
of State Highway No . 366 located in the Town of Dryden ,

Tompkins County , outside of any city or incorporated
village to wit : That portion of State Highway No . 366. ,
1/4 mile easterly from the intersection of State Highway
No . 366 and County highway No 109 and 1 / 4 mile westerly 1
from the intersection of Highway No . 366 and County
highway No . 109 . Seconded by Justice Whitford . Carried
and go ordered .
A motion was made by Justice Spaulding and seconded by
Justice Baker that the general bills totaling $ 197 . 99 be paid as
audited including the certified Dryden Telephone Service bill .
Carried by roll call vote . All justices voting Yes .
A motion was made by - Justice - Whitford and seconded by
Justice Johnson that the highway . bills totaling $ 566 . 53 be paid
as audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All justices voting Yes .

On motion the meeting was adjourned .
