SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the Town of Cortlandville Town Board was held at Town Hall, 15 Terrace Road, Cortland, New York with Supervisor Nadolski presiding. Members present: Absent: Supervisor Stanley Nadolski Councilman Melvin Pierce Councilman Edwin O'Donnell Councilman Ray Thorpe Town Clerk Pauline Parker Councilman Warren Manning Others present were Deputy Town Clerk, June Bradshaw; Water and Sewer Sup't., Fred Walker; Assessor, Davie Briggs; Highway Sup't., Carl Bush and Attorney Phillip Rumsey. Supervisor Nadolski called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M.. MESOLUTION # 166 AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF VOUCHERS pay vouchers Motion by Councilman O'Donnell Seconded by Councilman Pierce VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED BE IT RESOLVED that the vouchers submitted have been audited and shall be paid as follows: General Fund Vouchers # 365-372 $ 6,560•97 Highway if# 150 156.74 Water Fund of# 133-134 1,556.99 Sewer Fund if# 62 8.89 Supervisor Nadolski apprised the Town Board of a request ® from Mr. Richard Menapace, for water service to be installed at his residence located on Rte. # 281, near the Cortland- install ville Mall. The service line was never installed to water serv. accomodate that residence. That road, which is a state road, has since been widened. Water lines since have been installed to accomodate the mall, but they are dead end lines. A discussion followed concerning the problem of 6 in.water lines, dead end lines and the need for correcting the situation to properly serve the constituents. If corrected this would also improve the need for firefighting. Any extension of a water line, in the Town, henceforth should be an 8 inch line. Monday, September 17, 1984 Page 2 invest. 8 inch main RESOLUTION # 167 INVESTIGATE STUDY OF INSTALLATION OF 8 INCH WATER MAIN Motion by Councilman O'Donnell Seconded by Councilman Thorpe VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED BE IT RESOLVED that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to investigate, in the necessary manner, the feasibility of installing an 8 inch water main in the area of Rte. # 281 and Cortlandville Mall. Highway Sup't, Carl Bush, reported that the bottom layer of asphalt has been accomplished on Stupke Road asphalt and Allen Drive. The top coat will be put on later as on Stupke & it must cure for 2 - 3 weeks. .Allen Dr . Supervisor Nadolski apprised the Town Board that it will be necessary to adopt a local law in regards to veterans exemptions soon. Veterans Assessor, David Briggs, reviewed with the Town Board sexemptions the different options available. If no action is taken by the Board we will be required to use the highest rate suggested by the New York State Division of Assessment and Equalization. The matter will be discussed further at the next meeting. Action must be taken no later than January 1, 1985. Councilman O'Donnell made a motion, seconded by adjourn Councilman Thorpe, to adjourn the meeting. All voting aye, the motion was carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 P.M..
