Present were Supervisor Charles G . Downey , Hwy : Supt . Stacy Beach , Justices Harry Spaulding , Qrrie Cornelius , Millard Hoagland and Ara .Johnson'. and Assessors William B . Strong and Ralph Dellows : Supervisor Downey presiding . The minutes of..-the Sept . meeting were read for information. A motion - was made by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justice ... • Spaulding that the General Bills totaling 4 581; 27 be paid as - - audited : Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes . A motion was made by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Cornelius that the Highway bills totaling $ 1703 . 95 be paid as audited: Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes ; Moved by Justice Cornelius and seconded by Justice Spaulding that 500 : 00 from the General Fund be transfered to Highway Item II . Carried and ao ordered: . . Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Johnson that William Cole , Dryden , N . Y . be appointed Republican Checker of Election and Mable Hughes , Freeville , N . Y . be appointed Democrat Checker of Elections: Carried and so ordered; . Moved by , Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice Hoagland that the Inspectors of Election pay remain the same as I946 , as follows : Short Registration day $ 6 . O0 , Long Registration Day $ 7 : 0O , Primaryr Pay $ 8 : 00 , Election Day 4 I0 : 00 , Instruction Meeting $ I : 00 plus : 04 a mile each way which is the legal rate of mileage . Carried and so ordered: Moved by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justice Cornelius - that the Custodians pay remain the same as 1946 , yS 40 ; 00 • for each Custthdian : Carried and so ordered ; . • The following PROPOSITION was offered by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justice Johnson. Shall the Town Board of the Town of Dryden purchase , lease , ' or construct a building for a Town Clerks office and other Town purposes , acquire necessary lands therefor , and equip and furnish such building for such purposes at a total cost . _ not exceeding . the sum of $ I0 , 000 ? Tarried. and so ordered;. This sum to be set aside for building purposes: The Members of the Board and the Hwy : . Supt : will meet at the Town Clerks office on= October I8 , 1947 at 9 : 00 A . M . This day being set to make the Fall road tour : . Moved by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justice Spaulding that the following Resolutiontbe adopted : RESOLVED - - -that this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve the Preliminary- Budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning January I , 1948 , the itemized statement of estimated expenditures and Revenues herto attached and apart of the resolution - and be it RESOLVED- - - that the Preliminary Budgetshall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any interested persons at all reasonable hours and be it FUTHER RESOLVED - - -that the Town Board shall meettat 8 : 00 P . M . on the 6th: day of November , 1947 at the Town Clerks office , Drydea N . Y. ; for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing upon such Preliminary Budget:, and be it FUTHER RESOLVED— that the Town Clerk shall give no,ice of such hearing in the manner provided for by Sec: 113 of the Town Law and such to be published in the following_ form:: _ _ _ nor oac � � ao ? Nit 192 Moved by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Hoagland that the following Resolution be adopted : RESOLVED , that theparcel of land in Lot Noe 48 , containing 80 rods , which was conveyed to Edna C . Nicely by deed . dated January '6 , I943 , and recorded in the Tompkins County Clerks office in Book 267 at page 222 , be conveyed by the Town ' and by the Supervisor as successor to the said Edna C . Nicely , to R . . C . Van Marter , as Commissioner of Public Welfare of the Tompkins County Public Welfare District , subject to a first lien in:_ favor of the Town of Dryden . in the amount of t 584 ; 54T; Carried by a roll call vote; Hoagland-_-Yes , Cornelius - -Yes , Johnson- - -Yes , Spaulding - - - Not voting'; The minutes . of this meeting were read and approved; On motion the meeting was adjorurned; .
