The Regular Monthly meeting of the Town Board of the
Town of Dryden was held at the Town Clerks office on Aug . 4 , 1947 at
8 : 30 P . M .
Present were Supervisor _Charles G . Downey , Hwy . Sup ' t .
Stacy Beach and Justices C . Harry Spaulding , Orrie Cornelius , Alvord
Baker , Millard Hoagland and An Johnson
Supervisor Downey presiding :
The minutes of the July. 3rd: meeting read for information
. Mr Donald Mellberg , Mayor of Freeville , came before the
Board to discuss with the Members the procedure to be followed
when removing snow from the streets of the Village of Freeville;
Mr Hieble came before the Board to ask the Town to
fix the sluices and the road on Hunt Hill . .
A motion was made by Justice Baker and seconded by
Justice Spaulding that the west end of Hunt Hill road be inspected
on the Fall road tour . Carried and so ordered .
Mr Harry Russell appeared before the Board to discuss
the condition of the Creek road and the broken culverts and asked
to have them repaired .
Mr Harold Clough and Mr C . H . James of Varna appeared
before the Board to discuss the water shed on the western boundary
of the James property and the eastern boundary of the Clough
property : The Board suggested that the Soil Consvrvation:: Dept
, be consulted ;
A motion was made by Justice Cornelius and seconded by
Justice Baker that the General bills totaling j 479 ; 22 be paid as
read ; Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting - -Yes' ;
A motion was made by Justice Hoagland and seconded by
Justice * Johnson that the . Highway bills totaling $ . 3783 , 20 be paid
as read ; Carried by a roll call vote , All Justices voting - -Yes ;
The following Polling places were designated by the
Members of the Board .

A motion was made by Justice Spaulding and seconded
by Justice Baker that Eleanor Smith be appointed Inspector of
Elections to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Nellie
Sykes in District No . 2 : Carried and so ordered
The minutes of this meeting were read and approved ;
On motion the meeting was adjourned .
