Present were Supervisor Charles G . Downey , Hwy ; Supt; Stacey Beach and Justices Cornelius , Baker , Hoagland. and Johnson: Supervisor Downey . presiding The minutes- of the last meeting were read for information Mr J . Winthrop Brown of Ithaca , N . Y . R# 2 was present to discuss with the members of the Board the .use of gravel taken from his bank for . the . repair of a portion of the Dimmock Road:. Mr Henry Reed of Ithaca N . Y . I?# 2 and Mr Richard Reynolds of Ithaca , N . Y . $# 2 were also present at this discussion; After much detailed consider- ation Justice Cornelius suggested that _ Mr Brown be requested to present a varified bill . stating. the6exact . No ; of yards of gravel taken from his property that was- not . -us:ed . on his road and driveway and the price of the same'; - A motion was made by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Cornelius that the General bills totaling P I6 ;22 be paid • as read; Carried by a roll call vote; -All Justices voting - - - -Yes' ; :A motion was made by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Hoagland that the Highway bills totaling, _ 1216; 27 be paid as read: Carried by a roll call vote.; All Justices - voting Letters were received from. the MacDougall Equipment Co ; of B inghamton , N . Y . and the - Mid-State Contractors Equipment Co ; of Syracuse , N . Y . replying to a request for prices and the time of delivery of a 2 yard Shovel for the Highway Department ; Tentative prices and date of delivery uncertain , sometime in I948 ; 4 oC.l� AAmotion was made- by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justice Johnson that the Town of Dryden purchase a j yard shovel -te n -- f or the Highway Dep ' t ; from the Dryden Supply Co'_; of Dryden , N . Road Tour be • made on April 16th . 1947 beginning . at 9 : 00 A . M . . . Carried and so ordered . . . A motion was made by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justic J ohnson that the - Town Board meet at the Town Clerks office on April 16th: at 2 : 00 P. M . to consider the purchase of a 2 yard shovel and to hear all persons desiring to be heard in regards to the same; Carried and• so ordered; Supervisor Downe • reported that the present places- 8 of the voting machine for Dist . # 5 was unsuitable as a Polling Place and that a new place should be found ; The Board authorized the Supervisor t o locate a proper place to be used as Polling.. Place for Dist ;# 5; • . Assessor Harold Clough was present and gave a report to the Board on the meeting ' s he attended at the Association of Towns Annual meeting in February , 1947 ; He also gave . other facts pretain- ing to assessing property than should be understood ; The minutes of this meeting were read and approved ; On motion the meeting was adjourned; Lois H . Vann met at the Town Clerks Office at 9 : 00 A. 4 . on April 16 , 1g47 for the Spring,. inspection of the roads of - Town of Dryden`; At 2 : 00 P . M . the members of the Board , the Supervisor and the Hwy . Sup ' ts returned to the pffice ; The Notice of the Special Hearing was read at 2 : 00 P . M . on the 16th; day of. Schutt Road - - I ; 3 TUTi`; Snyder Road * Mi; Sheldon Road - - - - I6 Mi; • Old State Road- - - - 950 ft . • In as much as a Hearing was held as publicized and there was no opposition voiced - - - - a Motion was made by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justice Johnson that the Town of Dryden purchase a 2 yd . shovel fron the Dryden Supply Co . Dryden , N . Y . delivery to be made in May. , 1947 at the . urchase price of $ 9930-; 04 F . 0 . B. to be paid for with 6315 ; 00 from Highway . Fund Item • ISI and $ 3615; 00 from the General . Reserve Fund . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justic voting-- - - - YES'; . .
