The Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town , of Dryden
• was held at the Town Clerks Office on August 2 , I946 at 8 : 00 P . M . •
. Present were Supervisor Charles G . Bowney , , Highway Sup ' t . Stacey
Beach and Justices C . Harry Spaulding , Orrie Cornelius , Alvord Baker •
and Millard Hoagland;`
Supervisor Charles G . Downey presiding .
The minutes of the last Meeting were read for information; -
A letter addressed to Justice Baker from Alfred 3 Taylor.,
" of the Central New York Conference of the Methodist Church was read

concerning the clearing of the Title to '• the West Dryden Church
Property;: -
A motion was made by Justice Cornelius and seconded by
Justice Baker that the General Billsbe accepted as read , Totaling
. 223 : 74 . Carried _ by a Roll , Call Vote . All Justices voting- - -Yes :
A motion was made by Justice Hoagland and seconded by Justice.::
Spaulding that the Highway Bills totaling $ 1176 ; 13 be accepted as
read . Carried by a Roll Call Vote . All Justices voting - - - - Yes`;
The following Resolution : was submitted : •
Resolved : that this Board hereby requests the State :- Traffic:r
. Commission to restrictt. thespeed at which Vehicles may proceed:, to
30 miles per hour on or along the following portion : of the State
Highway No . 13 , located in the Town of Dryden ; Tompkins County , •
, outside of any city or incorporated Village to wit :
All the portion of said State Highway No . 13 from its intersection
with State Highway No ; . 392 easterly through the Hamlet of Varna
to the intersection . of State Highway with the County Road No 162; .
A motion was made by Justice Hoagland and :seconded by Justice
Cornelius that the above Resolution be adopted and Speed Signs placed
Carried and so orderedc'

A motion was made bylJustice Baker and seconded by Justice
Hoagland that a Resolutionbe accepted allowing the following
amounts to be transfered frog: the Contigent Fund to the Bugget :
Items : Collector SI3' ; 06 - - -Justices $ I4'; 83 - - - -Welfare 4 I : 58._Jand.
Insuranse $ 1 . 69 ; Caried and so ordered.
A motion was made by Justice Hoagland and seconded by
Justice Baker that the Welfare Report be accepted as read . Carried:::
by a Roll Call Vote ; All Justices voting Yes ;
