The clerk reported that era. d Gy.er had made a request for the return of the _ deed to his property now being held by The Town welfare deNertment . - General bills read and Beck moved theyvbe paid. as read seconded by Hoagland and carried . Highway billsread totaling 01566 . .50 and a motion was made by Beck that they be paid as read seconded by Baker and carried . A letter was , read from the County welfare ! officer , regarding the pay - ' meat of the Horace Williams property . . The matter of the appointment of temperary dog wardens for the ' town was discussed and Ed Weiser was present as an applicant for the Etna section , 4 The following nominations were made . :Harry Baker for South of Varna and Varna `Edward Welser " West Dryden and Etna . LeRoy Cole East of Dryden Clarence 1ouman ` reeville territory A motion was made by Hoagland_ to appoint the above named nominnees as temperary dog wardens seconded by Baker and carried . Downey gave an explanation , on the Tompkins Co . soil conservation dial ' . and Baker moved to approve of this plan seconded by' tBeck and carried . Downey also explaned in detail , somewhadt regarding . the purchaseof the Williams property' in Ithaca by the County and ask th _ t the board express their opinion about the purchase . • no - objection . Bert Vann was present . At 2 °30 ; P . M . they returned to the off ce and went into regular session . All justices were present at this meetimg . aitho Spaulding was not able to make the trip inthe A . M . . The proposed purchase of._ the Williams property was again discussed and the board decidee that allwho could , would visit this propert; • on the following Tuesday . A motion was made by Baker .. : to accept the new new 5 year contract at 4800 , 00 per year seconded by 'alpaulding . and . carried by a roll call vote , - • Downey veferredto a meeting being held in Albany , some time in $unne for Historians , and ask the boards action_. on our . town Historian- attending this meeting . Hoagland moved that the - historiants expense for this trip be paid seconded by Baker and carried Beck mov d: that - the Town advance $ 50 . 00to the historian for her servic:esan`de y paulding - and carried,. Downey reported that he had recieved $ 375 . 00 from the Horace Williams; Estate from the County , being . payment ' in full on the mortgage held by the Towns of _ Drydem, . The Cage bill for repairing the Olmstead house was read and discussed Baker moved to pay this bill as read seconded by Cornelius and carried. The clerk. read a letter regarding a changein the law , covering the rate ;bfpf111X &gegeto be paid the assessors for investigating rog damage cases , Hoagland matted that the assessors be paid 4 , 06 per mile , to conferm to section I18 , seconded by • Spaulding and carried Highway agreements were drawn and signed . . The minutes of. last meeting were read for information. rsoagland repoeted that he had made some effort to locate a polling place for election Dist . NO3 but so far np suitable place had come to his attention . The matter of voting booths to replace those burned was discussed , it was agreed thatSupv . Downey would locate some extra booths and have the I Highway dept . deliver them to , the places needed . The Historian Elizabeth tulkerson gave a report on her work . Hoagland moved to table this matter untill the welfare officer was in attendance , seconded by Cornelius and carried , Cornelius reported that he had Ibsen informed that a "eputy Sherriff was requested for duty in Varna sect ion of the town and " mov.edthatlra Reed, be reccommended to the Sherrif for the appointment . seconded by Baker and carried . Downey reported that he also had been requested that a deputy She if be reccommended for the East portion of Dryden . eck moved that Arthir Hines be recommended as a Deputy sherrif with the: approval of the Village of Dryden , seconded b7 B lfer and carried . Downey reported that -the air raid station located on .the Harold ',Attie prpperty stating that tha countyhad given their share of such properties over to the owners of the land where the stations were lacated , in liew of rent . A letter from the Asso . of towns was read regarding . the extra cost of snow removal , after a discussion regarding this it was decided to hold an- . other meeting this mO . Beck mover that Downey see Nicely in regards to the amount of gas required for • her town duties and make an application to thr ration board for that amount , seconded by Hoagland and carried .
