A letter from the Supt:, ofHighways was read asking for a new Town Truck and ask that this letter be filed in Clerks office . This.= matter was discussed at lengtli , with the result that Cornelius moved -to table the proposition' untilli_ the next meeting seconded by Spaulding and carried . . Spaulding° moved to recind the motion of Dec 5 1944 in regards to the sale price of the international tractor being $ 1500 . 00 seconded by Hoagland and carried . unamiously . . This; explanation was gitenthe board with a request that they express their opinion on the proposition, A delegation was present from West Dryden , asking for the purchase of new snow fighting equipmrnt . Petitionstfrom various sections of the town also were read regarding this subject . All justises were present also full boards from each mamed villages , pv . Downey gave the reason for calking a special meeting and Mayor Redmore MOVED that Chas . Downey be appointed as chairman of the meeting , seconded by Alvord Baker and carried . The chairman explained the situation regarding the Rabies epidemic r prevailing amoung the dogs in adjoining countied stating that our nearest case was in Aewark Valley , and that an as much as we were without a Co . dog. waeden , due to the gesignment of dos:eph. Weidmere , and that no new warden had been appointed to take his office it seemed advisable to appoint some temp - erary Town dog wardens . County Attorney Newman was present and gave . legal advise on- the question. It was proposed that each village appoint its own dog wardens and the Town take over the rest of Dryden township , with the compensation: set at f1 . 00per hour plus mileage , 3 nights per week this was car carried by an aye vote . . A motion was made by Hoagland that "the d1itiesr, of_ the_. dog wardens start April! I - 45 . seconded by McArthur and carried ;' ' te At this time the two village boards retired and - a_ discussion followed regarding the Town ' s part of this question , with the result. " that Cornelius i moved that the compensation be $ 1 . 00per hour not to exceed 25hrs per month . the time to be apread over tha 4 weeks period of the month , furthur allow - ance of $ I5000traveling expenses at the legal rate of . 06. cents per mile , Bills to be rendered specifying miles traveled and what territory covered, seconded by Hoagland and carried . ." A motion was made by Spaulding that L . Thaler be authorized to take Al sgch legal steps as neccessary to safeguard the - Towns interest on monies . advanced for relief in the Jim Mullen case ; seconded by Hoagland and carried . 1 Beck moved to hold the Annuall road tour on April 7 to meet et" the cl clerks office at 9A .
