The town board meet at the officeot the town clerk for regular meeting
all justices , Supt of highways present � �• ith Supv . Sweetland as chairman ,
Lawyer Thaler was present regarding the Hines case . A " letter was frot ' r
Mr Hines to Harry Spaulding was read . Mr Thaler told the board that he expecte
all those who were interested in the defense of the town to be present at
. the hearing on Oct . 8-at Slaterville .
• The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. . General bills
read and a motion was made by Beck to pay as read except the Nicely bill for
mileage to clinic , which was tabled seconded . by Spaulding and carried by a roll
call vote .

The town clerk reported that school had a safe which they would give to t
the town for removing it • from the school building . A motion was made by BiAck
to move the safe by town truck , seconded by Cornelius and carried.
A motion was made by Spaulding to borrow $ 5000 . 00 through 5 certificates o
indebtedness to payof. t sinking fund and interest on roades no . 68I - 682 - 683 .
First payment on certificates to be paid March First 1943 . and retire one ' each
yearat the same date . Balance to be paid from general fund before JanI , I943 , s
seconded by Baker and carried by a roll call .vote all yes . .
A • motion was made by Spaulding to advertise for bids for the loan of
% 5000 . 00 to be 5 . certificates of indebtedness of $ 1000 . 00 each first to be pai

roll call vote . A motion was made by Beck to pay the Nicely Bill of 41 . 20
which had previusly been allowed 33 . 00 upon motion meeting was adjourned.

The town board meet at the school house at a public hearing , to discuss the
?udget , after which an executive meeting was held at the office of the town e1e
clerk , with Lawyer Newman present . As Supv . ''weetland had explained at the
meeting at school that there had been an erroe in his salary , that he had means
it to be 800 . 00 instead of 900 , 00 A motion was made by Spaulding . that the error
be corrected seconded by Beck and carried by a roll call vote .
The town clerks salary $ 1600 . 00 as per Preliminary budget was moved by Sp
Spaulding to , accept seconded by Cornelius and carried by the following roll cad
call vote "weetland No - Spaulding Yes , - Beck No , - Baker Yes Cornelius yes .
Assessors moved by Beck to be #1p23 seconded ' by Baker
Welfare Officer Motion by Beck to be $ 85 . 00 and such allowanceas ask in
the budget seconded by Baker and carried by the following roll call vote ;
Sweetland yes Spaulding No , Beck yes Baker Yes , G:ornelius Yes carried .
A motion was made by Beck seconded by Baker and carried £ o . adopt the
budget as herewith attached

Highway Item 3 seconded by Baker and carried by a roll callvvote .

no .
