Arthur Hines to inspect the papers sto red there . It was agredd that Orrie Cornelius , try to find the- plao at the Univercity where they store the discarded storage cabinets , and make in- quries as to price and Etc . and report at . zne t r et.. . .. ;. r , to se his juclgement . and purrchase same , to be used to store the^ pap .skip. $c- . ; ; - , and to remov same to the Town barns . Ty, e . clerk reported? a complaint from Arthur , Harriss in regards to the con •dition to the road , or sluice near his place in 4 ermabtown . The Clerl< also gave a report on the circumstances of the Elsie Olmstead . case , inrelation to the town taking the respoasebility , of careing for her , an take a mortgage on her place . Sweetland presiding . The minutes ofilast meeting were read and approved. Highway bills read , and a motion by Beck was seconded by Munsey , to pay as read . was carried by a roll call vote . . Beach ask about graveling the McWatera road as gravel is available very near without cost to town , Munsey reported about the condition of the Wickham road , Cornelius also reported about the road and culvert near Verne. Ogden barn • in Varna; Spaulding made mention of the poor condition of the Schuttroad , and the road past Rancocus . . ' Cornelius reported about the purchase of a used steel cabinet from the Yn University , for storage of town papers and a motion was made by Beck that • • Corneliym purchase the cabinet if still available seconded by MUnsey and carries by a roll call -vote . General bilks read and a motion was made by Spaulding to pay as read . ircept the Hines bill , which was tabled seconded by Beck and carried by a roll call vote , all yes . Welfare bills and statement were readcas follows_° Food $ 52 . 00 Rent 17 . 00 Elec_triaety ' 6 . 64 milk 11 . 16 Medicine 7 . 00 Total - - 093 . 80 State aid 40% 37 . 52 Cost to town $ 256 . 28 A motion was maderby Cornelius to pay same as read seconded by Beck and carrie by a roll call vote . Welfare also reported on the Olmstead case , 'and a motio ' was made by Spaulding that the welfare officer take the case up with Town Attor and see how it could be handled and also have the Attorneyr send his written opi • nion to the town clerk , seconded by Cornelius and carried by a roll call vote . The following resolution was offered by . Munseys . . Bemuse it seems good buisness to house expensive machinery , Items costing fro , $ 1700 to 45000 , rather than to pay unnessary repair bills due to weathering , Iwith transportation-: to other places and loss of time to employees , and beca - use the town Supt . of Highways has the power to hire an engineer or other men as needed such as masons , carpenters &etc:, therefore be it Resolved , that the Town Board construct a suitable building as a combination: heated garage and shop . not to exceed $ 3000 using the beverage money to, financ - it . In case there is not enough beverage money� in the general fund to complete the buil @ins; therefore be it furthur . RESOLVED that the Supervisor issue a certificate of indebtedness untill the amount equals or exceeds the deficit . Alsp be it RESOLVED , that the plans for such building be brought before a committee t� appointed by the Supervisor for approval by the Town Board of Dryden. After a thorough discussion this was seconded by Spaulding and carried by a roll call , alloyes . The chairman appointed the entire town board as a commit tee to 'inbestigate cost and etc . and report at the next meeting which was agree to be held on June 15 . The clerk was instructed to sign the town welfare s gas r4tioning card for ` ` a 96 .. more gas if it became neccessary , Clerk was also instructed to make inquiries about a village ordinancregarding the erection of buildings . All justices were present , also Supt of highways . Supve as chaff rman . The minutes of last meeting were read and approved . The clerk reported that A . J . Hines had requested her , to . ask the board how they proposed to act on Ms :storage bi-?. ;1 previously submitted , and his request to have the papers rremovedT f$rombh s bare. Cornelius reported ghat he had not been • able to purc13a, Rg a cabinet as yet 06 and moved that the clerk have the town titaSupt . with' vAtruck move the papers to the town shed ur illC4rthur arrangement s, cah be made and also to , dispose o e the safe for junk . Motion was seconded by Spaulding , and carried by a roll call vote . A ,petition was read fron residences of Qermantownasking the town to t take care of drainage near the Harris property . Supt . Beach ask if the board c cared to sell the McCormack Deering catterpillar tractor and what ' price they would ask . A motion was made by Cornelius teat the } ighway Supt . contact the prospective buyer and get an offer and if in his judgement it was within reason that the board be notified and call a meeting to decide on a deal . seconded . by Baker and carried by a roll call vote . .
