Co E. } Robinson, Supervisor Sovocool, Councilman VanBenschoten, Councilman Cummings, Councilman [aynes, Councilman Also present: Leland Cornelius Purpose of meeting was to review tentative budget and make necessary changes in order to complete preliminary budget and any other business to come before the meeting. Reviewed tentative budget - Mr. VanBenschoten would like to go on record as having the Planning Board and Appeals Board folembers receive some compensation for their work. There are a total of 12 members. Board discussed compensating them $25.00 per meeting attended up to a maximum of $300 each per year. Election inspectors requested $5.00 per hour. Previously the Board had discussed $4.00 per hour which is the average rate in surrounding Towns. Road programs scheduled for 1989 are: 1) CHIPS Program - Sovocool Hill Road and Bird Cemetery Road 2 Local Road Program - Seal Champlin Road, Ogden Hill Road and Elm Street Extension in Nubia. The Highway Employees have agreed to the Town Board's offer. RESOLUTION N0. 39 - 1.989 HIGHWAY NEGOTIATIONS Moved by Mr. VanBenschoten, seconded by Mr. Sovocool Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Cummings, Haynes, Robinson RESOLVED, that the Town of Groton Highway Employees be granted a five (5) percent increase across the board and the hourly rate for a new part -time or temporary laborer remain at $5.00 per hour, and FURTHER RESOLVED, to create an incentive program for employees after ten years of service as follows: 10th year Anniversary 15¢ per hour 15th year Anniversary 15,0 per hour 20th year Anniversary 150 per hour FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town WL11 provide additional pension benefits of Section 75 -I of the New York State Retirement System. RESOLUTIO14 NO, 4o - PROVIDE . ADDI TICNAL PENSION BENEFITS OF SECTION 75 -I OF THE NYS RETIREMENT SYSTEM Moved by Mr. Haynes, seconded by Mr. Sovocool Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Cummings, Haynes, Robinson RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the To°opin of Groton does hereby elect to provide the addition pension benefits of Section 75-I of the N.Y.S. Retirement Law. Discussed salary requests for Town Officials. After much discussion Air. VanBenschoten moved to hold increases to five (5) percent. Seconded by Mr. Sovocool. Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Cummings, Haynes. Abstained - Robinson. There being no further business, Mr. Sovocool moved to adjourn meeting, seconded by Mr. Haynes, at 10:30 P.M.
