A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville was held at 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 1996, at Town Hall, 3577 Terrace Road, Cortland, New York with Supervisor Thorpe presiding. Members present.: Supervisor, Raymond Thorpe Councilman, Theodore Testa Councilman, Edwin O'Donnell Town Clerk, Pauline Parker Absent: Councilman, Ronal Rocco Councilman, John Pilato Others present were: Town Attorney, John Folmer and Highway Superintendent, Carl Bush. Supervisor Thorpe called the Special meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. to discuss the extension of time for payment, without penalty, of taxes as a result of action taken by the State Legislature. RESOLUTION #41 EXTEND PAYMENT PERIOD WITHOUT INTEREST AND PENALTY FOR THE 1996 TOWN AND COUNTY REAL PROPERTY TAXES Motion by Councilman O'Donnell Seconded by Councilman Testa VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED WHEREAS, the period for payment without interest and penalty of the 1996 Town and County taxes, including amounts relieved therein, expires at 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 1996, and WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of New York has granted authority to the Town Boards of the Town situate within the County of Cortland to extend the date upon which such payment of taxes can be made without interest and penalty, and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville desires to act pursuant to such authority to grant such extension, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the authority vested in this Board by the Legislature of the State of New York, the time for payment of real property taxes without interest and penalty, which ordinarily would have borne interest and penalty if paid after January 31, 1996, is hereby extended until 5:00 p.m. February 09, 1996. Councilman Testa made a motion, seconded by COuncilman O'Donnell, to adjourn the Special Meeting. All voting aye, the motion was carried. Respectfully sub itted, "C�4 Pauline H.
