Roule 38, Dryden, A'Y 13053) Members Present: Tracy Kurtz- Chair, Iron Scutt, Ralph Shortell, , Lisa Stelick, Sharon Todd Members Absent: Ralph Boettger, Molly Riley, Ron Space -Vice (.:hair, vacant Wood slot Town Board Rep.: Present - Steve Stelick, Jr. Town Ree. Coord.: Present - Jennifer Staton Guests: -none- Meeting called to order at 6:20pm. 1. Meeting; Minutes: 2-Af05 rt►eeting minutes. Moved by Ralph Boettger` Second by Tracy Kurtz. Approved Unanimous 2. Rec. Coord. Monthly Report: Jennifer distributed and reviewed her monthly report: Uncoming F_ventsll'rogrums: Contra & Ballroom dancing in MarchiApril. Kiwanis Baseball season to begin middle of May, Registration still open; Lacrosse Registration opens Mon., 3/14/05; I..ocal Teen_ Bands Concert Series: Fri., 418105, May & June TBA; Pepsi Pitch Hit & Run: Sat., May 7, 2005; Walmart Fishing Derby Sat,, 7/30/05 (Pitch.. & Fishing... are both being partnered with Groton and possibly Caroline) Updates: fg, Hunt on Sun. 3120105 went very well - moved inside to DES due to inclement weather - approx. 65.1- kids ages 8 R under; Recreation Partncrship: municipalities survey deadline Y21I05; Wall Street Balltnrl: a mtg. to finalize needs to be scheduled soon w/ Al Tallman of the school (re: dirt needs), Bill Finnerty & Dave Hicks - DHS varsity baseball has pledged their support of manpower; Boys Youth Travel Basketball "t'ournament held in Dryden went well. QtLL Dryden Elem. School will be under construction this summer - no use of that building or grounds this summer; Possible summer programs: (Basketball using Montgomery Park; 'Traveling Sports Canmp, Swim lessons @ TC3; other); Music In The Park summer concert series (Wednesdays) - July 13th date yet to fill - DRC suggested we get a banner made to hang at the. 4- corners in the village - Jen to check into; Town -wide Recreation Group discussion - still trying to contact all Town community center reps. to schedule a joint meeting. 3. 2005 I)RC Goals: Document reviewed. Moved by Sharon Todd, Second by Tracy Kurt:7 to approve with revisions. Lisa to make revisions and send to DRC &'Town Board. 41 DRC Membership: Resume & Letter from Dan Schmohe reviewed. Lisa to invite [)an to our April meeting as a guest to meet each other and review DRC mission/goals, etc. 05. Cuests to DRC Meetings: LIpril: 1) Jen to confirm John Bailcy, Insurance presentation, and 2) Lisa to contact: Dan Schmohe, DRC membership applicant; a?fa1;t DRC monthly meeting moved to SUNY Cortland for the Student Survey Presentation coordinated by Sharon Todd; .tune: Jen to contact Deb Gross, "town Environmental Planner as Conservation Advisory Council Rep. to invite to see how the CAC and DRC can partner. 6. DRC Rep. at Town Board Meeting: 2nd Thursdays al 7pm @ Tow•n Hall. DRC agreed this is very important and is informative. Don Scutt will attend April Town Board rncaeting (4Rr L-I —Iq -US. 7. Other Business: - DRC R Rec. Dept. future praject /event ideas (new & gleaned front past years DRC minutes) - Sharon updated its on the SUNY Cortland Student'Town - Wide Recreation Survey presentation of survey results will be on Monday 5 19 /05 at SUNY Cortland in room A -307 in Park Center (bldg. ice skating rink, etc. is in) at 7pm. DRC to change May monthly meeting to 510105 in Cortland - DRC will meet at 6pm at Tl3A for monthly meeting prior to student presentation. .Town Recreation & DRC Websitc: Jen will put the revised 2005 DRC Goals on the DRC page. Jen updates the site on weekends when she has new information and time, - Town land purchase for Town Hall was finalized and approved this month. Land is located around current town hall site. Beside land for the new town hall there are many other future recreational use possibilities for the remaining acreage. 8• New Ideas: - Steve or Jcn to have Sharon Todd placed on the May ']'own Board meeting agenda to give SUNY Cortland student recreation survey overview. 9.
