NY 13053) mbers Present: Lisa Stelick, 'Tracy Kurtz, Ron Space embers Absent: Matty Hamel- Chair, .lim Wood, Bill Pinnerty, Ralph Boettger, Molly Riley; (Vacancy -R. Kowalski slot) Town Board Rep.: Present - Steve Stelick, Jr. Town Rec. Coord, : Present - Jennifer Simon (I st day on job) Guests: -none- Meeting called to order at 6:30pm (waiting for members to arrive) I . Welcomed Jennifer Staton to her first day on the job as the new Town Recreation Coordinator. 2, Town Recreation Office: Due to the short notice 'Town Supervisor Trumbull received from the troy Scouts for the Town to vacate the Rec. Office from their bldg. (recvd. notice 9/21 to be vacated by 9./30/04), the DCS came through to help out. The ]'own will share space, on a temporary basis, in the school technology depts. work room located in the Dryden Elementary School, (DIS side of the bldg. room 19A or 20). It is understood that when the computer technician has jobs, she will need to spread out on tables, etc. throughout. the room. The school unions also have file cabinets they are storing in the room. Lisa & 'Trevor Stelick got a lot of packing done prior to the move date. On Tues., 1728/04 the Rec. Office was moved from the Boy Scout Bldg. to the DES. Steve ]'rumbull, Bambi Flollenbeck (Town Clk), .lack Bush (Town Hg%vy. Supt.), 3 school employees, Trevor Stelick & Lisa Stelick did the moving from about 3-4pm (2 trips thanks to Jack coming hater which gave us another truck to load). The transfer of' phone & computer network install. was completed on Friday (10/8). !VOTE: The DES bldg. will be undergoing renovation this summer. At this point we are told that everything will need to vacate the bldg. by June 30, 2005. In light of this, the Town will be working to secure another temporary solution for the Rec. Office. Plans for a location for the new town hall are moving forward. 9/20/04 meeting minutes - Tabled due to lack of quorum SUNY Cortland Annual Recreation Conference Brochure (Nov. 4 -5, 20041: Lisa handed out the registration /information brochure. Jennifer will plan on attending at least one day if not bot). 5. SUNY Cortland student "survey" project: Steve /Ron updated Jen on this project 6. Recreation Coordinator Report. We reviewed Jennifer Glaab's October report that she emailed to us. 7. Welcome Reception: After review ofJen's, and the schools event & athletic calendars, it was decided to hold the Welcome Reception for Jennifer on Wed., 11/17/04 in the MS Cafeteria from 6- 7:30pm, with set -up cr 5pm and clean -up @ 8pm. This same evening the school is holding a "Conversations with a Scientist" event in room C -13 @ 7pm. Lisa will subunit the building use form & contact Ann Grant to see ifshe'II help the DRC by coordinating the refreshments. 8. Membership. Letters of interest are to be sent to Lisa ASAP. Letters should outline their experience and their vision /goals for being on the DRC. 9. 2004 DRC Goals: October & November 2004 DRC Goals were reviewed. DRC members are to review the goals document in preparation of making the 2005 Goals at the November meeting. 10.
