Gym Spruce -Up & Paw Print Sales Russ reported on the gyhn spntce-up project and paw print sales. He distributed a report itemizing expenses, revcnaic, and current balance (51,395.76). 6. Feedbuck received so far: Advertise food available, fly flag on pole, usk for donations, advertise concerts on one side of a Nip r tim on stick that would be handed out to atten(Iees -get a sponsor to advertise on one side to pay cost of ftm, use a grill at concessions, line -up volunteers to run concessions, improve lighting. b. 13cuat Rcaualc: Short Season as it started very late surd closed earlier in August due to lack of staffing - made $265 - cost approx. $3,00) ($1700 stall, S 1000 lease, supplies). Felt this project was well received, however feedback shows we need different boats to bettcx accommodate pairs, etc. Had one minor vandal incident with the brats after the season ended - someone(s) had somehow wthooked the se ured boats and takLii thein out - they %vcre found floating on the lake - all paddles were lost. This items wads cut in the 2004 budget %vidi the understanding that this is still a grist idea for the future - however, the Town would likely purchase their onm fleet of boats vs. rentals. c. Steve mentioned he would next the approx. amtount heeded to complete the field - tic; would like to task Senator Seward for funds, Need a sub, Committee to coordintte completion of the field (i.e., cost; fill, seeding, fencing, home ram fence advcrtisuig, etc.). Origriteering Meet: Jen reviewed what orienteaing is (1ca rn mapping, how to use a compass, etc.) Ithaca College would like to help rein events at Flammond Full in their spring semester. Central New York orienteering club would help in the full. Jen's goal fir the Town Residents is for fun and to lutirn - not competitive_ 1. Recreation Sonsonal Bm! lh!L r: Jen sees this as a special project for tin intent. Hopes to have ready for summer. o. Seven-tlet Prr Club: Jut is proposing the start of this club for students in grades 7 -11. All interested seniors would help organize and run the activities. The seniors can use this work experience on their college & scholarship applications and they would evenly split the revenues taken in that evening for their pay - this would hopefully cncomuge them to promote attendance and create fwn activities. Club would be open Fri-Sat. from 7-11 pin with various recreational activities they would Ixtrticipate in for a fee. StudeuL, grades 7 -11 could either join club by an annual membership and pay reduced activity costs, or, pay entrance: fee aft the door and pay the full activity costs. Exact details are still being worked out as well as use of the Dryden Middleffgh School. 7. Monthly Meetings: Discussion enstiLd and it was agreed to me i the 2nd Monday per month at 6:30prn. Meeting in the evenings seems to work better for members and at.11o+ws for better use of time and discussion of issues. 8.
