RE: Water and Sewer Rents - Projections for
the Future
One of our primary objectives has to be the
determination of what action the Town Board should take
to complete the connection of residences and business where
ready access to sewer and water exists.
The 10-year grace period for most of the old water
and sewer districts is over or will be within the next year.
As I see it, we need two things; (1) an ordinance or
local law which requires hook-up or some reasonable penalty
like paying the minimum and (2) a detailed survey which in-
ventoryies the number of connections, anticipated revenue, etc
Perhaps a separate set of tax maps (reduced version) could be
so noted and in this way we could readily keep it up to date.
The foregoing ordinance should resolve the question
of putting meters on the wells such as the residences shown
on the attached list. The Commission is doing this now, but
I don't know who pays what at this point.
Let's discuss this at a staff meeting which I v/ill
be setting up for later this month.
