Northeast DrainaLw Rey :wort
Kristen 'I'ayl or rnade a presentation on the Northeast Drainage, This
presentation consumed the whole niceting.
Kristen explained that Nvith the new IDEC requirements, when liew
developments are planned and built that the plans require that the rate of tile
water riln Off MUSt, be no greater than the current flow. 'I"his can be
accomplished by putting in detention ponds or '-notched Nveirs. 'rhose two
features will keep the water from, flowing any faster as they will hold the water
back for release later on.
The Corm-nittee discussed the current drainage problems in the Briarwood,
development area and [-,)(?low it, "he 'Fawn has a plan to help with the drainage
problems, 'I Iiis plan will be irnplernented vvith'f'ornpkins County's Narashaw
Road reconstruction project.
There aiX, soine, concerns that the storrn, water rUII-(,)ff flows would increase with
the development of the sec(::)nd phase of the Briarwood development. Kristen
said that the new DEC requirements would not allow that and that there is a plan
to put in as V-notched weir to slow down the flows.
