Guest: Rosalind and Sal vatore (,' rippi. The meeting began at 9:00 a,in. The July 24, 2007, meeting minutes were approved. 'Sewer Extension Peter Stein said that he has reviewed Public Works Committee and Town Board minutes (for the last several years) regarding getting sewer extended to the Grippi property and concluded that extending sewer there was never approved. Cathy Valentino reached same conclusion as Peter when reviewing the Town Board rninutes. Mrs. Grippi stated she has new material to present to the Committee. Dart Walker's options were: extend on the same side as Grippi's, which would cost approximately $86,000 or go under Trurnansbur g Road by the hospital and that would cost around $50,000, The New York State IX)Tis not in favor of boring tinder the road, so we should look at the first option. Peter asked about precedents of extending a sewer line to one property and none was found in light of the fact that a septic system is still an option. Woolf Park Encroachmetit Fred Noteb(lom and Rich Schoch presented the COlunlitteC with a map showing where the'Fown's park is on Woolf Lane. It indicates that one of the residents is encroaching oil the park land and is violating sonAe zoning laws, Dan said that he would write as letter to the owner to clear up this issue. Public Works Facility Lighting [',red explained that the 1"tiblic Works Facility is used as a polling place, and the employees recently completed a safety survey. As as result of the survey and from talking to the public when votingr, it has E)cconle apparent the facility needs more outside lighting. Fred said that we have looked into different lighting options, and it was felt that two new lights on the ends of the office building ., would help out. They will cost approximately $387 each. The Cornmittee agreed the lights should be installed. The Public Works Department staff will put there in. Post Office Entrance Dan presented a newly revised plan sirice the first plan's bids came in too high ($39,000). Cathy suggested removing the curbing entirely (to prevent tripping hazards), round. off existing curb on north side, and make short-cut the official walkway (instead of fencing off). This project would be contracted out -instead of doing work in-house. Dan will solicit quotes from local contractors and bring it back to Committee. The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 a.m. 11--M
