HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-02-14 - CB Memo & Agenda TO: CONSERVATION BOARD MEMBERS FROM: MICHAEL SMITH, SENIOR PLANNER DATE: SEPTEMBER 24, 2014 SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – October 2, 2014 This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday, October 2nd at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this memo). The draft minutes from the August 7, 2014 meeting are attached. At this meeting we will continue to discuss the pest management policy research from other communities. At the August meeting several members volunteered to look for additional examples of plans and costs involved. Cooperative Extension has developed a help document on preparing a plan specifically for Emerald Ash Borer (http://www.nyis.info/pdf/NYS%20Emerald%20Ash%20Borer%20Management%20Plan %20Development%20Workbook.pdf). While this is specifically for EAB, it does contain links to plans from other communities along with lots of other related resources. I will bring copies of the document to the meeting if anyone would like a hard copy. Onondaga County also has a nice webpage (http://www.ongov.net/environment/emeraldashbore.html), again specifically for EAB, which has several resources that might be helpful, including some information on costs. The Town Board had an initial discussion regarding the CB’s report on deer at their September 22nd meeting, and I can provide a brief update on that conversation at the October 2nd meeting.
