SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – FEBRUARY 4, 2016
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
February 4th at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of
this memo). The draft minutes from the December 3, 2015 and January 7, 2016
meetings are attached. The draft minutes from the November 5, 2015 meeting were not
available for the mailout.
At this meeting we will take a few minutes to review the draft “Town of Ithaca
Conservation Board Activities & Accomplishments for 2015” document. Please let me
know if there are any activities or accomplishments that were missed from last year.
The “Conservation Board 2016 Work Goals” are being provided again, just to make sure
that it includes all of the modifications from the last meeting.
As part of the continued discussion on deer management, a few minutes have been
designated to allow the CB to prepare for the upcoming meeting with the Town Board.
The deer management issue has been tentatively included on the February 22nd Town
Board Study Session agenda. The meeting starts at 4:30 pm in the Aurora Conference
Room.
We will also continue with discussions on invasive species, including the use of goats
as an environmentally friendly weed and invasive species control and the possibility of
creating educational material (brochures) on invasive plants.
James has signed up to take minutes at the February meeting.
