HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-02-17 - CB Memo and Agenda TO: CONSERVATION BOARD MEMBERS FROM: MICHAEL SMITH, SENIOR PLANNER DATE: JANUARY 25, 2017 SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – FEBRUARY 2, 2017 This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday, February 2nd at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this memo). The draft minutes from the November 3, 2016 and January 5, 2017 meetings are attached. The draft minutes from the December 1, 2016 meeting were not available to include in the packet. At this meeting we will continue to discuss the 2017 work goals (revised version attached) and committee assignments for 2017. We will also continue the discussion regarding the maintenance of bluebird houses at Town facilities and have any update on the deer management report. There was some interest expressed at the last meeting about organizing an Earth Day (April 22nd) activity or table. The CB will need to discuss options and see what events are being planned in the area. At the last meeting there were questions and general interest in learning more about the other Boards (Town Board, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals) at the Town and how the CB fits in with them. To start this conversation I have attached a short history of the CB that was put together in 2000 and the Town law (Chapter 23) that designates the CB. This law outlines the CB’s powers, duties and procedures, which would be good to review before discussing the other Boards. At the March meeting I will provide information on the other Boards and the CB’s relationship with them. Lindsay has signed up to take minutes at the February meeting.
