TO: CONSERVATION BOARD MEMBERS
FROM: MICHAEL SMITH, SENIOR PLANNER
DATE: APRIL 20, 2018
SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – MAY 3, 2018
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
May 3rd at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this
memo). The draft minutes from the April 5th meeting are attached. The draft minutes
from the January 4, 2018 meeting were not available to include in the packet.
At this meeting we will spend some time working on the plans for the Richard Fischer
Award tree planting ceremony to honor Tony Ingraham and Liz Bauman. The tree
planting will take place in the Town’s Tutelo Park (Bostwick Road) and we will be
planting a White Pine. A date for the event has not been selected yet.
We will also have a brief recap of the CB’s Earth Day table at the April 22nd Sustainable
Tompkins event. For those that attended, please think about positives, negatives,
things to do differently, and if this type of event is something to plan again. At the last
meeting, it was suggested that the CB consider attending other local events. Please
come with ideas of events where the CB could set up a table or somehow participate.
We will need a volunteer to take minutes at the April meeting.
If you have any questions prior to the meeting or are not able to attend, please contact
me at msmith@town.ithaca.ny.us or 607-273-1747.
