215 N. Tioga St.
ZBAA-22-127 Appeal of Mike Parker; owner of 141 Troy Road, Tax Parcel No. 49.-1-26.4; is
seeking relief from Town of Ithaca Code section 270-59 (Height limitations) for an accessory building
that is approximately 20’6” in height. Town of Ithaca Code section 270-59 allows for an accessory
building to be a maximum height of 15’, where the height of the proposed accessory building would be
approximately 20’6”.
The property is located in the Low Density Residential Zone.

Greetings.
In short, we would like to build a storage barn on our property that exceeds the 15 foot height
limit. The pole barn that has been designed for us will match the appearance of the
construction style (salt box)of existing home. The peak of the proposed roof will be 20.5’ tall.
5.5 over the limit.
As this structure will be more than 300 feet from the road, and 350 feet from the nearest
neighbor. I cannot see how it will be a problem for anyone. It will be approximately 50’ from the
“woods” as well.
I will be supplying it with electrical service and nothing else. A place to park my tractors and
store my stuff. Most likely the floors will remain crushed stone. I may finish a section someday
to make a workshop, but that will not be part of “this” construction project.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Please let me know if you require any additional
information

Dear Zoning Board of Appeals,
This letter is to express our support for Mike Parker and his request for relief regarding the height restriction for
his proposed accessory building at 141 Troy Rd. As the owners of the nearby property at 654 Coddington Rd we
don't believe the additional height will result in any detriment to the neighborhood and we support the applicant's
desire to invest in his property.
Thank you for your consideration,
Evan and Stephanie Schapiro
