LOCAL LAW NO.OF THE YEAR 1997
A LOCAL LAW AMENDING THE TOWN OF ITHACA ZONING ORDINANCE
CLARIFYING THE PERMISSIBLE USES IN AN AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT
Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca as follows:
Section 1.The Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Ithaca as re-adopted,amended,and
revised,effective February 26,1968,and subsequently amended,be further amended by
amending Article XI entitled "Agricultural Districts"by adding a new Section 5 IB reading as
follows:
"SECTION 51B.Applicability of Regulations Governing Residence Districts R30.
1. The minimum lot area of a lot in an Agricultural District,for any use,
agricultural or otherwise,shall be 30,000 square feet subject, however, to the
ability to cluster lots for residential purposes pursuant to applicable provisions of
any subdivision regulations.r\
2. The regulations pertaining to Residence Districts R30,including those relating to
uses, accessory uses, accessory buildings, yard regulations, building coverage,
size of lot, and special properties,shall govern all non-farm uses,lots,and
structures in an Agricultural District, unless otherwise specifically stated or
excepted in this Ordinance."
Section 2.If any provision of this law is found invalid by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect any other provisions of this local law which shall
remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. This law shall take effect immediately.
