Retired!
We had a BBQ luncheon where the Deputy
Town Supervisor, Rich DePaolo presented
a Resolution of Appreciation to Rich
Tenkate, Deputy Highway Superintendent,
on his retirement after 29 years of Service
to the Town. Have fun Rich, we will miss
you.
Rescued!
Here he comes to save the day….!!!
Brian Cary from Public Works responded to a
resident’s SOS to save a woodchuck who was
stuck in a storm water basin. Both rescuer and
rescued are doing fine.
Ribbon Cutting
The Town will hold a ribbon cutting
ceremony for Saunders Park on September
6th at 2pm.
The park land was donated in 1998 and
plans began in 2008 with grant funding
being applied for in both 2010 & 2014 but
not received. In 2015 a resident donated
funds to assist with development of the park
and trail segments and work was planned
for 2020 and delayed by COVID.
Please join us in celebrating the opening of
this long-awaited park.
Community Choice Aggregation
The Town and the City of Ithaca are developing a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA)
program planned to start in 2023. This opt-out program will allow the Town to procure energy
supply services and facilitate access to distributed energy resources for eligible energy customers
in our community.
The Town Board will hold a public hearing and consider adoption of a local law enabling
development of the CCA program at its meeting on August 22. Informational links:

Introducing MailPoet, our new Newsletter distribution program
The Town Clerk’s office sends a newsletter out, generally the third Wednesday of the month
unless something time-sensitive or extra necessitates another or additional issue.
Our newsletters are meant to be informal, entertaining, and give you highlights of information
about what is going on in the town, with links for you to look further into topic(s) of interest to
you.
To protect the end user, MailPoet will not allow us to migrate our existing list to protect against
spammers and bots and the like, so you will have to “sign up” through our website and then you
will receive a confirmation email from the system. We will continue to send by both methods
until October.
Don’t forget to sign up for SIREN, so you can receive instant alerts on emergency and
community notifications.
As new residents move in, please remember that all dogs must be licensed under NYS law.

Tompkins Weekly highlights Town of Ithaca Eddydale’s
It’s so nice when someone from our town gets some press. Take a moment to read about this
50+ year business that locals, visitors and neighboring communities all know and love.
The Eddy family has been active in our community and Alfred Eddy volunteered and mowed the
Inlet Valley Cemetery for years.
BidNet Direct
A new way to be notified about our solicitations for bids, written quotes and requests for
proposals/qualifications.
BidNet is part of the Empire State Purchasing Group, connecting over 275 agencies across the State,
making our advertisements on projects/services available across the state and beyond as well as
providing one-stop shopping for information for all vendors, the public and town staff.
BidNet is a single online location for managing information and activities associated with the bidding
process, from start to finish, providing tools to minimize costs and increase efficiency for both the town
and the vendor(s). The Town will be able to track how many vendors match a specific opportunity, have
downloaded documents, responded and more.
The Town’s goal is to cast as large a net as possible to encourage bidding and the broad reach of BidNet
will enhance that outreach and therefore increasing competition by reaching more potential bidders.
The Town also has its own public facing page on BidNet where anyone can view all closed bids and
award information, increasing transparency and efficiency in the processes.
