HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-11 NewsletterQuickNewsLetter Brush and Leaf Pick-Up Brush pick-up has ended. We had some calls after the service, but please remember, brush pick-up is always around third week of October and leaf pick-up is generally the last week in October/first week in November. Get those leaves out soon! The Town will be picking up bagged leaves through the month of November. Contact Public Works with any questions, 273-1656. This timing is to prepare for switching to snow removal equipment so mark your 2017 calendars now. Tug Hill may get snow this weekend! School Taxes If you have misplaced your school tax bill, you can print one from TaxLookup.net or call me and I will get you one. Due by end of October. Water bills Any unpaid water bills will be relevied on to the property tax bill. There will be no increase in 2017. House Address and signage Does your house comply with NYS law? NYS §R319 states and explains the requirements for identifying your house with your street address numbers saying that the number must be visible from the street or road your house fronts on, they must be Arabic numbers no less than 4” inches tall and no less than .5” wide and the color should contrast with their background. In addition, if you live set back off the road like I do, you need to have your house number on a “monument, pole or other sign or means” to identify the house. This means on the side of the road on which your house is or as stated “visible from the street or road fronting the property” so the mailbox that is on the other side of the road doesn’t count for identifying your house. Please, don’t rely on numbers on a mailbox and make sure your house number is on your house or on your side of the road in front of your house and visible for emergency responders. Every minute counts in emergency situations.
