A ew York, parties of the first part, and TOWN OF ITHACA, a municipal corporation in the
County of Tompkins and State of New York, party of the second part,
WITNESSETH, that the parties of the first part, in consideration of One 00/100 Dollar
($1.00 &c.) lawful money of the United States, and other good and sufficient consideration
paid by the party of the second part, do hereby remise, release, and quitclaim unto the par-
ty of the second part, its successors and assigns forever,
ALL THAT TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND situate in the Town of Ithaca, County of Tompkins and
State of New York, bounded and described as follows: Commencing at a northerly corner of
premises recently conveyed to Malcolm Mattice and wife by deed recorded in the Tompkins
County Clerk's Office in Liber 261 of Deeds at page 111, said point of beginning being at
• the westerly end of the divisi6n line between Lots 4 and 5 as shown on a "Map of Subdivision
for C.V.P. Young located on Coddington Road, Town of Ithacan filed in Tompkins County Clerk►s

Office September 17, 1934, which map is made by Carl Crandall, C.E. and dated August 19, 1933;
running thence south 50 degrees 48 minutes west to the westerly side of the proposed road
shown on said map; thence running south and southwesterly along the northwest side of said
proposed road to the northeasterly side of the Coddington Road; thence southeasterly along
the northeasterly side of the Coddington Road fifty (50) feet to the southeasterly side of
said proposed road; thence northeasterly and north parallel to the second described course
and fifty (50) feet southeasterly and easterly therefrom to the point or place of beginning.
TOGETHER with the appurtenances and all the estate and rights of the parties of the
first part in and to said premises,
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the premises herein granted unto the party of the second part, its
successors and assigns forever.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals

August 19, 1933; running thence south 50 degrees 48 minutes west to the westerly side of
the proposed road shown on said map; thence running south and southwesterly along the north-
west side of said proposed road to the northeasterly side of the Coddington Road; thence
southeasterly along the northeasterly side of the Coddington Road fifty (50) feet to the
southeasterly side of said proposed road; thence northeasterly and north parallel to the se-
cond described course and fifty (50) feet southeasterly and easterly therefrom to the point
or place of beginning.
TOGETHER with the appurtenances and all the estate and rights of the parties of the
first part in and to said premises,
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the premises herein granted unto the party of the second part, its
successors and assigns forever.

This is to certify that Davis Sneed Hill, before whom the signature of Malcolm Vattice
on the attached Deed was acknowledged, was at the time such acknowledgment was taken a duly
commissioned Lieutenant, Civil Engineer Corps. Naval Reserve, United 83tates Navy, acting as
such, and serving on active duty; and
To certify that the undersigned has compared the signature of Davis Sneed Hill on the
attached Deed with his known signature upon original records on file in the Navy Department
and believes that his signature on the attached Deed is genuine.
The undersigned has been designated by the Secretary of the Navy to make the above cer-
tification.

Maude Blackmer by Comm. THIS INDENTURE, Made this 4th day of May, 1944, BETWEEN,
to MAUDE BLACKMER, an incompetent, residing at Willard,
Fitch H. Stephens New York, by KATHRYN B. BURIJS, her committee, of Syra-

STEPHENS, of 315 West State Street, Ithaca, New York, party of the second part,
WHEREAS the petition praying for the sale of the real property hereinafter described
owned by Maude Blackmer, an incompetent, was presented to the Supreme Court by Kathryn B.
Burns on the 7th day of of April, 1944 and an Order of said Court was made and entered on
• that day appointing Enos A. Pyle as referee to inquire into the merits of the application
and to examine into the truth of the allegations of the petition and hear the allegations
and proofs of all parties interested in the property or otherwise interested in the applica-
tion and to report his opinion tttereon together with the testimony with all convenient speed,
and,
WHEREAS, Enos A. Pyle, the said referee, did on the 15th day of April, 1944 duly file
his report as required by law recommending that the real property of the said incompetent
hereinafter described be sold for not less than the sum of $4600.00, and
WHEREAS, the said report was by an order of this Court granted and entered on the 15th
day of April, 1944, duly confirmed and the sale of said real property directed to be made
at a sum not less than $4600.00 and requiring the said committee before making such sale to
enter into a contract therefor subject to the approval of said Court and to report the same
thereto under oath, and
WHEREAS, the said committee pursuant to the said order entered into a contract with
Fitch H. Stephens, the party of the second part, to purchase the said real property for the
sum of $4600.00 and report said contract to the Court under oath as required by the said order,
and
• WHEREAS, by order of the said Court duly made and entered on the 26th day of April, 1944,
the said contract and report were duly ratified and confirmed and the said committee on be-
half of said incompetent was directed to execute, acknowledge and deliver a suitable con-
veyance of the said incompetent's interest and estate in the said property to the said party
of the second part, and
WHEREAS, the said party of the second part has complied with all the terms and conditions
of the said contract on his part to be performed,
NOW, THEREFORE, THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that the said party of the first part, in con-
sideration of the sum of $4600.00 paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged, the said committee has bargained, sold, granted and released and by
these presents does bargain, sell, grant and release unto the said party of the second part,
his heirs and assigns forever,
ALL THAT CERTAIN LOT, PIECE OR PARCEL OF LAND situate, lying and being in the City of
Ithaca, Tompkins County, State of New York, bounded as follows: Beginning on the south side
of West State Street in the City of Ithaca at the Northeast of the lot formerly owned by Mrs.
DeForest, later owned by Mary L. Seely, now Hanford & Middaugh (which lot is described in a
