HomeMy WebLinkAboutLL 03 of 2003 Amend LL 2 of 1979 to Increase Dog License Fees.pdfLOCAL LAW NO.3 A LOCAL LAW AMENDING LOCAL LAW NO.2 OF THE YEAR 1979 REVISING THE FEES FOR DOG LICENSES Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca as follows: Section 1. Local Law No. 2 of the year 1979 adopted by the Town Board on May 10, 1979 regulating and controlling the activities of dogs in the Town of Ithaca and setting certain fees is hereby amended as follows: A. Article IX entitled "License Fees" is amended by renumbering paragraphs (3) and (4) to be respectively paragraphs (4) and (5) and by adding a new paragraph (3) reading reading as follows: (3) For the remainder of the year 2003 and for following years the following fee schedule is established: a. For neutered male and spayed female dogs: Local Fee Current State Fee Current Total Fee $6.00 $2.50 $ 8.50 b. For unneutered male and and unspayed female dogs: Local Fee Current State Fee Current Total Fee $6.00 $10.50 $16.50 c. For purebred licenses as follows: Current Current Local Fee State Fee Total Fee i. For 10 dogs or less $15.00 $ 25.00 $ 40.00 ii. For 11-25 dogs inclusive $25.00 $ 50.00 $ 75.00 iii. For more than 25 dogs $25,00 $100.00 $125.00 In the event the State of New York changes any of the State Fees set forth above, the Total Fee to be charged shall be modifed to conform the portion of the fee that is a State Fee to the then current State Fee charges. B. Article IX newly renumbered paragraph (4) is amended to read as follows: "(4) The local fee schedule contained in subsection 3 above shall be effective November 1, 2003 and for all periods subsequent to that date unless amended by Iocal law, or ordinance, or resolution of the Town Board enacted in the same manner as an ordinance." Section 2. If any provision of this law is found invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect any other provisions of this local Iaw which shall remain in full force and effect. Section 3. This local law shall take effect upon its filing with the Secretary of State of the State of New York.
