LOCAL LAW NO. 1 OF THE YEAR 2009
A LOCAL LAW REVISING THE POSITIONS IN THE LIST OF TOWN OFFICIALS
AND EMPLOYEES SUBJECT TO THE ANNUAL DISCLOSURE STATEMENT
FILING REQUIREMENT IN CHAPTER 32 OF THE TOWN OF ITHACA CODE
Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 32 (Code of Ethics) of the Town of Ithaca Code, § 32-2.A is
deleted in its entirety and replaced by the following:
"§ 32-2. Applicability.
Unless otherwise specified, this chapter shall apply to all elected and appointed
officials (hereinafter referred to as "officials"), and to department heads and
certain other persons holding the positions specified below, or equivalent
positions if job titles change ("employees") of the Town of Ithaca ("Town"),
including the Town Board (specifically including the Supervisor), Planning
Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, advisory boards, and any committees and
subcommittees thereof, the Town Clerk, Receiver of Taxes, Highway
Superintendent, Director of Engineering, Director of Planning, Director of Code
Enforcement, Deputy and Assistant Department Heads (those who act on behalf
of the Department Head in his/her absence), Code Enforcement Officers, Budget
Officer, Human Resources Manager, Network/Records Specialist, and Town
Attorney (whether paid as a Town employee or retained under separate contract or
agreement)."
Section 2. In the event that any portion of this law is declared invalid by a court
of competent jurisdiction, the validity of the remaining portions shall not be affected by
such declaration of invalidity.
Section 3. This local law shall take effect upon its filing with the New York
Secretary of State.
