Rich DePaolo explained that the purpose of the meeting was to go over the pre-bid
meeting list.
Some Committee members expires concerns with communication: How will people
know what is going on when, and there would be no public meeting before
construction starts.
Jim was asked if there was a difference in the cost for different colors of asphalt. Jim
said no. Some were not sure they wanted the bike lanes red. There were some concerns
with the wording. They did not want the Typical Section deviated from.
It was pointed out that #s 10 and 11 will take care of the concerns regarding # 3.
Jim pointed out that the pre-bid meeting is to help bidders cost out the project.
There was a concern regarding the alignment of the feature on Pleasant Grove Road,
and Jim said that he went out and measured it. If we retain the alignment, would have
to go back to the State. Jim said yes. The question was raised why can we move things
on Pleasant Grove Road but not Forest Home Drive. We did not move things on
Pleasant Grove Road.
The Britten’s still want the road moved 3 feet to the north on Forest Home Drive, which
would require going to the State for their approval. The Britten’s argued that the site
distance would be better. It was pointed out that the Engineer would have to change it
and sign off on the change. Jim indicated the Engineer looked at it and felt that it
would be better for snow plowing.
The Britten’s felt that this was a safety problem, and it was pointed out that the State
would not have approved it if it was. They wanted to know why the feature was on the

curve.
The design plan is already out to bid. This project will move ahead.
The Britten’s felt the community will not be happy with this project. Jim said that the
community will be able to see the mark outs as they are done.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
