The Town of Ithaca Planning Board met in regular session on
Tuesday, June 8, 1993, in Town Hall, 126 East Seneca Street,
Ithaca, New York, at 7:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Chairperson Carolyn Grigorov, Virginia Langhans, Herbert
Finch, Candace Cornell, William Lesser, James Ainslie,
Floyd Forman (Town Planner).
ALSO PRESENT: David Klein, Dave Auble, John Whitcomb.
Chairperson Grigorov declared the meeting duly opened.
Chairperson Grigorov read the Fire Exit Regulations to those
assembled, as required by the New York State Department of State,
Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
AGENDA ITEM: PERSONS TO BE HEARD.
There were no persons present to be heard. Chairperson
Grigorov closed this segment of the meeting.
AGENDA ITEM: WORKING SESSION, DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
Chairperson Grigorov opened the discussion on the above -noted
matter and read aloud from the agenda as noted above.
The Planning Board members discussed the revisions made to
Chapter 3 of the Town of Ithaca draft Comprehensive Plan. The
Board discussed the growth management in the Town and how that
issue is addressed in the Plan. The Board discussed open space,
the land use patterns map, and whether or not there should be
written descriptions on each of the maps for clarity and easier
understanding.
Town Planner Floyd Forman stated that he would make the
revisions as discussed and bring the revised Chapter 4 back to the
Board for review at a later meeting. Mr. Forman then referred to
a handout that listed the principal objectives of the Comprehensive
Plan and asked that the Board review the list and discuss any
necessary changes. (Memo from Mr. Forman to the Planning Board
Members, dated June 4, 1993, and the Priority Objectives List,
respectively, attached hereto as Exhibit #1 and Exhibit #2)
The Planning Board reviewed the priorities list and discussed
some grammatical errors and typos found in Chapter 4. The Planning
Board Members requested that Town Planner Floyd Forman indicate the
main roads of the Town of Ithaca on the Anticipated Land Use
Patterns Map. The Anticipated Land Use Patterns Map was
unofficially voted on and accepted by all members of the Planning
Board.

Upon Motion, Chairperson Grigorov declared the June 8, 1993
meeting of the Town of Ithaca Planning Board to be duly closed.
