EASTERN HEIGHTS MULTIPLE HOUSING PROPOSAL
The Committee to study the proposal , consisting of John Vasse
and Elmer Phillips , reported as follows :
Mr . Phillips reported by letter since he was unable to attend .
Buildings 20 feet from East property line should be 50 feet .
Recommends 150 to 200 units only , but is inclined to favor R - 15
because of the fairly steep and narrow road . John Vasse concurred
and said lending institutions he had talked with felt 400 units
would saturate the market , Mr . Schwan made the following obser -
vations to the people present . There are 108 multiple housing
units on Winston Court , 8 on Tareuton Drive , 17 on Warren Road
( all R . Lucente ) , 180 units for Lansing East on Warren Road ,
Carriage House at Community Corners - 102 units , Lansing West on
Triphammer Road - 114 units , and Chateau Claire on Triphammer -
64 units , making a total of 595 units in the Northeast Section
of the Town of Ithaca , Cayuga Heights and Town of Lansing . He
stated that he lives in a nice residential area at 16 Muriel Street
but multiple housing has not devaluated property in the area and
it has not changed the residential character of the area . The
same kind of p - ople live in multiple housing that live in houses .

dren added to the school in 1967 - 68 - - from Lansing East with 90
